RE: Georgia Southern @ Army
Mohajir tried to get Army as fill in for the Tulsa game we lost. Couldn't get it done so we have Incarnate Word as our last game. Would loved to have Army. We beat them here a few years ago.

Unfortunately, our pace of play and inability to come away with TD's in the red zone keeps our scoring low. Limited possessions means limited points. It's part of the reason we have played soo many close games.
Our pace of play is intentional and needs to remain the same, we just need out offense to follow through on drives. We do that and we’re golden. It benefits our defense by keeping them fresh and allowing Sloan a longer time to make needed adjustments. Once we start following through with drives we should be able to choke out just about every one we play.

Our pace (~63 plays per game) seems slower than normal because we don't follow through on drives. If we did, we would get an extra few plays per game and bring that average up to ~70 and >30 points per game, which is in line with all the other successful option coaches we've had.
StatesboroBluesman is right, once we do that we would be a complete team, and one that is hard to beat.

Hopefully our blind squirrel offense finds more than the average of 24 acorns per game right

Are there any four-star generals on staff at South Carolina?
Also, hoping the Eagles pull this one out.

Doubt it, but I do remember reading that either the AD or President that hired him at Army is also at South Carolina.

Bob Caslen, the University of South Carolina’s 29th president, is a retired Army lieutenant general and former superintendent and president of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Listen to a pod cast today done by some Army fans. They stated that the South Carolina President who is an Army Grad would not want Monken to leave Army due to the fact that he would want Army to still be able to beat Navy.

I've also heard that the SC president has stated that there will be no triple option. In that case, why would they be looking at Jamey Chadwell? Granted his offense is not packaged in a way that points out the nature of his triple option. It's kind of funny how pure triple option is mocked by football fans, yet when it's mixed in with another offense, it's ok.

Monken has also said he wouldn't necessarily use the same offense somewhere else.
Also Coastal looks nothing like your "typical" option team which is why Chadwell isn't getting looked at the same way.

Listened to that same video.
There was a lot of things they don't know that much about. Dude may want Army to do well, but he's also going to take the best coach he can where he's at currently. If that's Monken, he'll take Monken.
Those guys even said they wanted our playbook.....which had me dying with laughter. They want our playbook and a majority of our fanbase would give their first born for Army's.
That video was good for a laugh.

Our playbook is fine. It's definitely more evolved and cutting edge. It's not the playbook that's flawed, it's the execution. If DeBesse can't execute, there's another guy on staff with that playbook that executed it well the first time he was here. Of course, if twas financially feasible our fans would toss that guy out with the bathwater as well.

Yes. Both have to be working for the plan to come to fruition. It's a great plan when you are playing teams equal to or better than you. It's a terrible plan if you're playing teams that you should beat by 30 points because you let them hang around longer than they should.
Our offense is NOT improving despite what some of our fans think - we are just possessing the ball longer and therefore eating up more total yardage, but we still don't have enough explosive plays to turn long drives into points. When it takes you 12-15 plays to score you only increase the chances that the drive stalls (that goes for any team - not just us). At one point this season (a game or two ago) all but one of our drives that started at least 50 yards from the endzone stalled unless they had at least 1 play of 30 yards or more. It's THAT important.

Army was meh also.
The missed FG cost us the game. Offense still has issues with consistency and finishing drives. But the refs last call was horrible. Not saying we make the FG, but we should have had the chance. Also, cheap move by army to lay on the line and not move to let us quickly spike.
