All about our OL and whether or not we commit mental errors/penalties by the dozen. We need to shore up at least one of those two issues (OL being more important, I think) to have a fair chance.
That’s going to be a tall order against a great Cincinnati team and defense. UCF has progressively gotten worse from 2017 -> 2020, Cincinnati has been the opposite.

UCF better execute high tempo without mistakes. UC can score.

I think it'll be a good game. UC should be favored, but it won't be a blowout. I actually picked UCF to win, but that's a pig in a poke, lol.

Our QB will be running for his life like a wounded deer from a bunch of wolves. A lot of roll outs on our side but that’s not really DG’s game so offense will be inconsistent. O-line will get eaten alive. 38-24 Cincy

Current FBS rankings...
Scoring Offense
11 UCF [44.0 avg/g]
14 Cincinnati [41.6 avg/g]
Scoring Defense
3 Cincinnati [12.4 avg/g]
60 UCF [28.7 avg/g]
The difference for UC this year is our offense is finally catching up to our defense. This is especially true over the past 4-5 games. Ridder is really starting to get comfortable and confident in his role and execution of the offense. The difference between the two teams is on the defensive side of the ball. We have been dominant all season there and I think that will be the factor in why we will win/not win the game.

If Elijah Ponder is unable to go it’s a big loss for our DLine. The DLine is deep, but he has had a great year and is extremely underrated outside of the diehard Cincinnati fans IMO.
ECU was able to get the running game going once Ponder left in a way we haven’t seen anyone run against the Bearcats team this year. Of course it’s a little different when the coaches can prepare for it versus losing a player in the middle of a game, but it’s something to watch for as UCF has multiple RB’s that can break off big runs once they get a little room.

UC's defense is formidable. Gabriel is going to have to run sucessfully to put UC off gaurd, and I have not seen that being done that well this year. The UCF defense is going to have to stop Ridder on his scrambles. I picked UCF, but it was mainly a homer pick. UC looks good this year, and being at home is not an advantage this year.

agree wholeheartedly - two really good, motivated teams, both with something to prove, and fighting for respect - should be a great showcase of why the "merican is P6

UC has more depth at receiver and they are quicker than last year. There are more options for Ridder and when he makes good decisions the offense is difficult to stop.

In a normal year with crowd atmosphere I say UCF. UC is fortunate that there is limited crowds. With over 6 starters on D out due to opt out, kicked off team or injuries I think We are going to struggle with the QB runs.
Also like others have said, if the O-line can give DG time we are successful. If not then it might be a long day

This has always been the one that worried me the most. UCF is so explosive and so good with creating stress on defenses with their alignments. It's also the first year under Fickell I've trusted the offense to do their part against UCF. I think UC wins by double digits, but a couple things go against them and the game could easily flip.

RE: UC VS UCF
Honestly I think Cincy is a good deal better than this 2020 UCF squad. Luke Fickell has already proven to be a coach who can make adjustments and he’s probably better than Huepel who tends to get a little repetitive.
UCF has playmakers and the offense that is the best in the country. We have a puncher’s chance to show up in the marquee game of the season. I’d give Cincy the edge on Defense and Special teams. If UCF can make it a shoot out, we can win. If Cincy’s defense does what it did last year and throw us off our offensive production than it’s going to be a rough night. Luke having a completely different defense scheme specifically for 2019 UCF is a gimmick he probably won’t repeat. This year we have all the tape on what Cincy Defense is going to show us.

RE: UC VS UCF
UC's defense has been vulnerable in hurry-up and when their LBs are isolated on receivers, which I'm sure Heupel will do as that is what his offense is predicated on. They can typically stop that by forcing negative plays quite a bit, but missing on of our best DL (Elijah Ponder) for the game may cause issues in both negative play production and run defense with the defensive formations we'll have to play this year. My one saving thought is that UCF's offense has looked good all year, but against some truly terrible defenses.

Yea, I’m a little worried with Ponder out. If UCF is able to run the ball effectively it will make it that much more difficult to slow them down while also opening up the passing game even more.
Hopefully Freeman has something in mind to help offset the loss of Ponder. We have plenty of talented players on the DL, so we just need theme to step up.

Luckily Bush is back to 100% ish, so we have our top three DBs in man along with Wiggins on the back end...but yeah, I'm incredibly worried about how much they're going to be able to isolate Dublanko and Beavers in coverage. Last year we played Young/White in pass sets, this year we don't have a second hybrid backer to take up the reins.

UCF 2020 is a good team but they aren’t 2018 UCF. The Knights have the individual talent to win this game, but I haven’t seen a complete game from them this season. And as talented as they are, Cincinnati is just as talented and are playing great team ball and have better coaching. Should be a great second game after Temple/ECU.

And the Oline is playing much better than last year. Eliminating the pre snap false start stuff has been huge.
