RE: College Hockey Playing/Cancellations
UAA is shutting down the whole program a year early, the WCHA is left with 9 teams this winter.
The loss of the Ivies, RPI, and Union leaves the ECAC with only Clarkson, Colgate, Quinnipiac, and St. Lawrence. Although I would be shocked if RPI and Union acted without SLU and Clarkson. Those announcements may be pending.

Clarkson seems to be gung ho about playing. I think they believe they have a shot at both the men's and women's natties if they stay in. I would have thought St. Lawrence to be an early cancellation, the fact that they haven't makes me think they're staying in the game.
RIT appears to have "un-cancelled" football-style as you noted above. Interesting.

RE: College Hockey Playing/Cancellations
Maybe we will get conference-only schedules among the rest of collegiate hockey so the season isn’t completely lost.

Sounds like RIT is a full go, removed them from the list.

RE: College Hockey Playing/Cancellations
Scheduling round-up, as of now:
Independents
LIU has a scheduling agreement with Atlantic Hockey for the year. They have lost their first game against Army, but that's it. Already scheduled to play Quinnipiac once, I'd imagine there would be some phone calls with the ECAC survivors.
Arizona State has been folded into the Big Ten schedule, exclusively playing road games in the Big Ten's completely insular schedule.
Hockey East
Exclusively in-conference, playing a double round-robin.
NCHC
Exclusively in-conference. Divided into divisions for this season only (Miami/Duluth/St. Cloud/WMU and Colorado College/North Dakota/Denver/Omaha). The NCHC is playing for three weeks in a bubble in Omaha to play "cross-division" games, and then returning to campus games in January to play their own divisions.
Big Ten
Exclusively in-conference, with Arizona State involved in a scheduling alliance but not eligible for the tournament/autobid. 24 conference games for each school, plus four each with Arizona State in Big Ten arenas.
Atlantic Hockey
Atlantic Hockey, which with RIT's re-entry has a full complement of teams, is also playing non-conference games. Full schedule TBD.
WCHA
The WCHA is down only UAA, so they are fine. They also have some non-conference games still on the schedule. The conference's deadline for withdrawals was yesterday but the conference is also disbanding after the year so any penalty for non-compliance would be theoretical at best.
ECAC
Down eight teams. What Quinnipiac, Clarkson, St. Lawrence, and Colgate plan to do is an open question.

RE: College Hockey Playing/Cancellations
First post updated, Maine men unable to host UMass. This weekend's series postponed, and a scheduled February series that was to be non-conference will become league games. UMass is shopping around for a replacement.
Maine women will still head to Holy Cross this weekend.

I forget: The New CCHA will be essentially what the WCHA is now, minus Alaska & Huntsville, correct? Also, Huntsville independent, and one Alaska team has bit the dust, correct? Also interesting they're playing considering (I belive) their DII sports aren't happening.
Also I'd imagine this is a tell-tale sign Big 10's interested in Arizona St full-time

CCHA will be the WCHA minus Anchorage (dropped/ing the sport), Huntsville, and Fairbanks. Fairbanks' other sports are still going- they are traveling in rifle and the GNAC has "opted in" to play basketball this winter.
I wouldn't read too much into the ASU/Big Ten thing long term. The Big Ten wanted to go insular, and didn't want to travel anywhere that can't do a P5 level of COVID testing. Also, the Big Ten has an odd number of schools so it would have had byes and more trouble scheduling any makeups. ASU was willing to play entirely on the road, ASU can COVID test like a P5, and ASU makes an even number. All three of those are issues that won't exist in the future, hopefully.
The NCHC and ASU also spoke, but with an even number of teams and an opening bubble, it didn't work out. Next season there will be four independents (Fairbanks, Huntsville, Arizona State, and LIU), which will make scheduling much easier for them once conference seasons start for everyone else. No, there is no autobid, but the NCAA tournament at larges are given out based on a mathematical formula so the door is still open for a tournament appearance if they play well. I don't think we will hear anything about an ASU conference until their arena is finalized or nearly so.

UMass/UConn moved to this weekend, home and home, to paper over Maine's week delay.
