Crum is looking very sharp tonight in some cold weather.

Going into the half and he’s only 17-17 300 yards and 2 TDs in the air and 6 runs for 31 yards and a TD on the ground. He looks extremely poised in the pocket and making sound decisions, his receivers are also getting wide open and he’s going through his reads and finding them.

Penalties are holding that stat line back for the second week in a row.

I don't think the penalties have hurt his stat line at all. Everything that's been called back they've ended up picking up later. We haven't punted once. The only stops Akron has are the muffed punt and the fumble.

551 is the school record for passing yards in a game. Putting that out there in case it becomes relevant.

I'll throw out 69 points is the record for points against EMU (I think 2004)

I'm still withholding excitement. That last drive was a gift. Our defense needs to get into this thing!

Does Schlee come out this drive or after this one?

This could be Crum's only prime time ESPN game. I bet they give him as much spotlight as possible.

To keep him in there to hand off and work the clock doesn’t make sense. Smart move to get him out of there, out of harms way and allow Schlee to take some snaps.

22-25 348 yards 3 TDs
13 rushes 104 yards 2 TDs
04-cheers

The worst part of everyone wearing masks is not getting to see the frowns on the Akron sideline.

Probably about the odds of being down 27-6 with 8 minutes left in 4th quarter and winning 30-27 on a walk-off field goal

Buffalo has probably the best running back in the league and an experienced line.

That will be a challenge.

RE: Zips Game
So this is what the post-defense NCAA football looks like?

25 possessions by both sides:
2 ended by the end of a half
2 Kent State fumbles
3 Akron turnovers
3 Akron punts
1 Akron turn over on downs
= 15 touchdowns.

Kent State had no punts - the only times we didn't score touchdowns is when we fumbled

The OU/Miami was a bit close to home. If they cancel a game on this schedule you're likely out of running for the championship. I hope our guys -and our opponents for that matter- don't get contact traced.

On Oct 27th 2018 Akron beat CMU 17-10. Since then they've gone 0-20. 0-15 after paying a buyout to get rid of Bowden, paying a buyout to Arth's old school, and paying to hire Arth. In that 20 game span they've only lost by one possession twice (one of those being an 8 point loss).

Kent State now leads the nation in PPG at 52.7. Buffalo is 10th in nation.

That will be a fun one!

We have a great offense and a good team because of it. With a good defense we would be a great team. Maybe they will develop. Rest of schedule will be a challenge.

I wonder if any of our buddies from zips nation wrote any haikus about last night's game?

Or any of the last 20 games for that matter.
