Isn't there a different thread for this sort of thing?

Any news here? Started practicing yet? I saw NU picked up a game with the Powder blue fellas on Wednesday.

Five years ago today, UNCW was in first place in the CAA and had the third longest winning streak in the nation as they prepared to take on William and Mary,

It's very weird. It feels like we are in basketball season and not at the same time. I dislike it.
I'm sure the players and coaches dislike it even more than us.
Everyone is held captive by the rules right now.

Yes, there are rules that they have to go by and I think that it is 14 days for what is considered high risk potential for transmission. And , it sounds like college hoops is considered that due to close contact for greater than 15 minutes. I’m not exactly sure what their protocol is but I am sure that it is pretty close to that.
I too would love to see them play.

Yes, love to see them back on the court! UNCW has the fewest games of anyone in the conference. How about a make-up before the C of C series CAA?

IF we actually play CofC, we will have played 8 games and cancelled 12. What's the point?

Why wouldn't we play? It's an opportunity to get better as players and coaches; individuals and as a team.

If we dont get the CoC games in, we wont have played the 8 minimum to make the CAA tournament. Im sure the players are ready for this stop and start to be over.

Solo we will make caa tournament. It counts as lost for every game under 8. I talked with someone at uncw.

That's good to know. It's not optimal, but it's better than getting pushed out for something outside of the teams' control.

Agreed. Considering are the only one under 8 games and currently in 9th place it would be silly to keep us out

RE: 2020 - 2021 Men's Basketball Information Thread
Yea, it's a shame but if we can play C of C a few games that will help the guys get rolling again. I hope that Shy plays and someone like Jaylen is ready to go come tourney time. That may be a pipe dream, but we need guys. And, it would be cool if Dodd got rolling and even BT, because BT has some size to him as a guard.
I watched some of some older videos tonight of the 2002 to 2006 teams and we had some tough guys that had some grit and meat on their bones. And, we had size too. We have to get that y'all or we aren't going to get back. Yes, we did it with Keaats but we had exceptional scorers and had just enough down low. I'm will a large majority here in that we have to get some guys that can mix it up in the paint with size or else it will be spotty. Good luck coach! You're a great recruiter so go get at least 2 bigs to augment this team. The talent is there otherwise, especially if Shy gets back and hopefully Jaylen for next year, or possibly getting back for the tourney. We are loaded at the 1,2,3 and even 4 spots no doubt when healthy (not now unfortunately), but we need a few bigs to augment this. A big should be able to see that this team is VERY close to being there but need size to put them at the top. It is obvious because the guard and wing talent is already here to reclaim the title or at the very least be right there in the CAA Final.

Are they online? I haven't seen a home game from that era in quite sometime and would love to show some people just what that crowd and atmosphere was like

I had them on VHS. You can still find a bunch of good games online though. Fun times.
