I wouldn’t vote against ending the CAA. This conference has sucked for nearly 10 years now.

No, and TV for the CAA Tournament hasn't been announced either. Did the deal with CBS Sports Network just last one season? Not only don't we have the national TV games, but there aren't games on RSNs.

I see their 2 games against JMU are postponed. On the JMU board some posters think it might be a blessing in disguise, the thinking being they could find a D1 team to play in the meantime to be better tuned up for conference play.

CAA Teams Ready for Back to Back League Games

As conference play nears, CAA commissioner Joe D’Antonio said the league continues to examine options for its postseason tournament.

The CAA is currently in the second year of a three-year agreement to play its tournament at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Southeast Washington DC, home of the WNBA Washington Mystics and the Washington Wizards NBA G-League affiliate. The 2021 CAA Tournament is currently scheduled for March 6-9.

D’Antonio said one possibility is to keep with the existing plan, but playing at another location in Washington under more controlled, bubble-like confinements is also under consideration. A third option should the conference need to change plans could be playing tournament games on campus.

“We remain pretty fluid,” D’Antonio said. “All three of those options remain in play right now as we continue to work with our medical professionals, our athletic directors and certainly our administrators as to what is going to be the best scenario for the conference as we go forward.”

Coaches show today at noon. Hope that he will talk about our injuries in detail. Perhaps Mike can ask?

We can only hope that Coach Siddle does not pull a Coach K with the response.

Assume you are "Coach Bill" LOL

Shy mid February? That's a shame I no longer have hope of him getting back this year.

Nope, you haven't. I haven't really put much stock in him back either. The information coming out has never been firm enough for me to be confident

Yea, I asked them and coach said that Shy would start individual stuff this week. Coach did answer the question here so that’s cool. Apparently Joe Pridgen is okay because he was not mentioned. Brian Tolafree will be back this week. John Bowens should be more effective next game as he gets back into the mix.

Same stuff he's been saying since early/mid December.

At this point, I'd bet he doesn't play a minute this year.

While it is nice to be able to have both games on weekends, I miss looking forward to a weeknight game.

It would be nice to get Shy back to help out. Especially with it being a free year. But it's great that they are putting his health first.

While the Men’s team’s trip to Elon this weekend is currently still on, the following weekend’s home games against W&M have been postponed: https://uncwsports.com/news/2021/2/2/men...tribe.aspx

It appears WBB’s home games this weekend are getting postponed as well.

Drexel plays Delaware that Saturday and the prior Thursday.

If their Saturday game could be pushed back to a midweek game we could make up the Drexel series that weekend.

RE: 2020 - 2021 Men's Basketball Information Thread
Good article from the Seahawk Perch lately.

Sure sounds like a "Hoosiers" momeny from Siddle:

On building a foundation

As we continue to build a program up, I like to talk to my guys about, when you’re building a house, the foundation has to be rock-solid and that’s what we’re focusing on, and I think that we are putting together a really nice foundation — something that we can lean on and stand on. Our guys are fighting really hard. I have guys playing almost 40 minutes a game, my rotation is very short and they’re giving me everything that they have on each possession.

On expanding the rotation

I want our rotation to be a lot deeper and bigger than what it is right now, but in these games, they’re possession games and I have to be able to trust the guys I have out on the court, and to be honest, I’m just not at that point with some guys right now. We’ll see; we have a long week ahead of it with practice and we’re going to try to get those guys better and ready to produce for us, and hopefully, we can get a couple more guys in our rotation.'
