Quote:The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee announced today the relocation of 13 predetermined preliminary round sites for the 2021 Division I Men’s Basketball Championship...

...NCAA staff are in preliminary talks with the State of Indiana and the city of Indianapolis to potentially host the 68-team tournament around the metropolitan area during the coordinated dates in March and April. Indianapolis was already slated to host the Men’s Final Four from April 3-5, 2021.

I haven't heard anything yet about any "bubble". Just all being in the same place is not the same as being in a bubble. It could be the exact opposite of a bubble - it could be a super-spreader event.

Has there been any word about whether any fans will be allowed to attend?

You're right - the NCAA hasn't used the term "bubble" - but, doggone if this doesn't LOOK like a bubble to me:

The NCAA cash cow is under COVID siege. Say you won't play and the P5 + AAC/A10/BE start to hold their own meetings. That sounds like the beginning of the end of the NCAA's existence if you ask me.

If they wanted to kill the NCAA it certainly wouldn't be all that hard to do so.
I'm just not certain they (the schools) want to.

Agreed. The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament funds well over 90% of the entire budget for the NCAA. The NCAA spent its entire rainy day fund to offset the loss of last year's tournament. If this year's tournament is cancelled, the NCAA is bankrupt. The tournament must be played. Failure is not an option (but as I like to say, it is a possibility).

Never kill something until you have a deal to replace it.

^^^ THIS ^^^

(On a side note, it's also why I'm so against VT firing Coach Fuente - who are they going to get to replace him?)

There's one reason to keep Fuente right there.
