Well, I was in attendance last year - one of the more distasteful losses I have witnessed as a Herd fan! + the weather was horrid - at times it felt like tropical storm winds and the rain blowing sideways! Great accomplishment for UNCC.
As a fan I want us to pound you guys into the turf. I think we will be pretty motivated. We shall see.

Isn’t there some kind of penalty for “Lack of Institutional Control”?

Just like FIU, UNCC doesn't care if they play or not. If they did they would have taken personal responsibility and kept safe.

Another bout of Covid -21 strikes. A slight variation of the Covid -23 contracted by FIU.

Notice that the “real men” schools figure out a way to not cancel? Marshall, USM, WKU, Middle, UAB, UTEP, UTSA. Am I missing anyone?

Oh, and contrary to popular belief, Marshall has had many players miss games with the ‘vid, but we play with what we got.

Could Marshall still play someone this Saturday since the game was canceled on a Monday? UCLA and Cal played each other on short notice this past weekend.

What are the rules on play or cancel? I really havent kept up with what CUSA stance on this was...

seems to me if you have 65 players that can travel and enough out of those 65 to fill a 2 deep the game should be played, Does each school get to make the choice on play or not even if just a handful of players are out?

When the conference decided to play some rules/standards should have been put into place and if school could fill those limitations and they decided not to play. It should be a forfeit

I wouldn't be suprised if the conference doesn't ask or regulate it and cites HIPPA as a reason they shouldn't have to.

So for all of us who have already purchased rice tickets do we get a refund? Or a credit towards the championship game or next years tickets? Or will the school say tough luck?

UAB and UTSA have cancelled games this month. UTEP has had games cancelled on them - but I'm not sure if they were the ones who couldn't play or if they were like Rice this month and had teams had to cancel the game on them.

This whole macho man attitude seems stupid as hell, and also beware because Covid has a way to get the last laugh on you.

So Marshall doesn't play now until the Rice game on December 5th? That should be enough time to properly prepare for the Owls.

I would also talk to Rice ahead of time because I think there is a distinct possibility one or both of their next two games don't happen (because of outbreaks at UNT and UTEP), and it might make sense for Rice and Marshall to play prior to Dec. 5th if that ends up being the case. Rice could then play UTSA on Dec. 5th.

I’m not laughing at Covid, I am laughing somewhat that I have not heard of one single case of a college athlete being hospitalized with it. They are the best conditioned of an age group that has a 99.995% survival rate if they contract it. I am laughing a little bit at the schools who have apparently no solid Covid plan in place.

I totally agree, my fellow Herd fans should think twice before casting blame, and BS like conference teams don't want to play us using Covid as an excuse. Karma's a *****, and if we make the Championship I hope like hell that we don't get hit the week of with a bunch of positive tests.
