They can do better. That stadium is enormous. Let 3k in. Rice can manage that. C'mon. It's the final game of the season.

Ouch. You guys can potentially still win the division, the conference, and a bowl game. So it doesn't seem right for him to leave the team hanging like that unless he's perhaps frustrated with the coaching staff and/or other players over the lack of taking appropriate COVID safety measures? Wasn't there a video showing a number of UAB players walking around together without masks or something?

I don't know if it was all that wise for Watkins to bow out at the time he did, causes a red flag. He's already a borderline mid to late round prospect. He's going to have to really win over NFL executives, who would probably look at this as a guy who easily quits on his team.
I understand it's covid, but those players either opted out very early in the season, or as typical, sit the bowl game. I can't remember a player like this quitting on a team right before a potential conference championship.
But it's covid year, who knows.

I can’t remember a team taking 6 straight weeks off, either.

I tend to agree here. It's not like he's a lock to be drafted in the first few rounds. He could have dramatically improved his stock with a good showing in the next game, potential CCG, and a bowl. Instead, the NFL has a few games of film to look at from this year, and everything he's done in the past. With everything bound to be different this year, he really better show out in individual workouts and meetings(which will likely be virtual). I wish him the best, but I think he received some poor advice to just leave when he did.(which evidently was weeks ago)

Those same players are walking around together almost every day during practice and games....without a mask. What's the difference while touring a stadium that is being built?
Its very rare to catch COVID while being outside, with out without a mask

Nothing anything that this player did in the next 2 game would have any impact on where he's drafted..
If he gets drafted it will be from his Pro Day numbers and interviews or video that is already out there showing how he runs patterns and makes catches
