The carrousel is beginning to turn.
Muschamp is out at USCjr. Got to believe that Freeze is currently on their short list.

Let the fun begin. 04-cheers

RE: The carrousel is beginning to turn.
If I remember correctly, SCar is the one job that made Cajuns nervous about losing Napier.

RE: The carrousel is beginning to turn.
My guess is Napier.

I don't think it's been long enough for the stank of Freeze's shenanigans at Ole Miss to have washed off and USC won't want Chadwell because he hasn't coached any at the P5 level.

RE: The carrousel is beginning to turn.
Chadwell may be in the second best job in that state. Unfortunate for Coastal is USC has deeper pockets. No one has ever proven you can win at South Carolina, ever. They have made it to the SEC championship game once in the 28 years they have been in the SEC, and lost to eventual national champion Auburn.

If someone does go into Columbus and bring home a conference championship, they will build a statue for that guy, guaranteed.

USC is definitely a place where Napier might be interested, but the timing would be wrong right now. He has not achieved enough of his self-set goals at this point to pull him away from UL.

Unless he was at Ole Miss, where he learned how to cheat...

Well excuse me for not getting the ‘real’ story from someone as all knowing as you, oh mighty one.

Not saying it’s not possible, but I don’t think it’ll happen.

We shall see.

South Carolina, NC State, UNC and Tennessee are all programs that concern me. With that being said, Jamey Chadwell and Hugh Freeze are in the region and over achieving. No disrespect to either program, but they are both way ahead of schedule with regards to winning at the level they are.

RE: The carrousel is beginning to turn.
I really think Freeze’s second extension (signed just this past week) takes him outta play for a year or two. Would be HUGE money to buy out now. He was at $2 mil/year till ‘23, now (no official numbers released) I believe it’s till ‘25 and rumored to have brought the average up to 3$ mil/yr+.

That’s $15 mil in salary, what would the buyout be? Big enough is the answer, imo. Off market for two years.

I agree....IMHO chadwell seems like the most ideal candidate, all things considered.

They just canned Muschamp who had a $15M buyout. They get $40M per year from the SEC, not to mention jealous donors who can’t stand to see Coastal ranked or Clemson dominate.

Money won’t be an issue for them.

SC hired a search firm. Per 247sports, this is list thus far:

(Napier and Chadwell included)

I can't believe anyone would fire any coach unless there was a legal issue during 2020.

I’m definitely not someone with many connections. That said, I do know some folks close to the USC program. The word from their side is Chadwell is among their top targets.

Freeze best yrs are beyond him, SC would be idiots to hire Freeze, he was a disaster in his prime yrs, what makes you think all of the sudden he gets it and is ready to move the gamecocks to the next level? Hire Napier

Freeze is 51, Saban is 69, Freeze has a lot of years left, he just has the stigma of a cheater, you know, since he cheated, and liked naughty phone calls.
