It depends on what the goal is. Do you drop your chances of winning the game a couple of percentage points to get a 10 point win? If the goal is to crash the party, you probably need those 7 points and maybe more. The win is fantastic, but 3 points makes it too easy for the detractors.

Having said that, I can't fault them for doing what they thought gave the team the best chance to win that particular game.

Really hope we are above Texas A&M, even though I can see them losing a game, being behind them could hurt our chances of getting past them.

BYU actually has better strength of schedule than we do. They might jump us given the close game.

I think that might change after tonight. They just played an FCS school and only have one more game, in like a month, against San Diego St.

Metrics might say that but no way. I'm sorry, but we'd hang 50 on Boise with their starting QB.

I think Tulsa will be a struggle, and Temple always gives us fits, so I'm not jumping on that wagon just yet.

Neither Tulsa nor Temple (especially not Temple) can beat us unless we give the game to them. I can't see us playing tighter or more conservative than we did today.

I agree...they will still likely pass us. More of a brand to people not paying attention.

Thank God Tulsa beat Tulane the other day. Gives us another potential top 25 win. Or two..

I mentioned it during the week and in the game thread but watching those highlights really reinforced for me how strong Beavers is coming on. He was all over the place making big plays. If he comes back next year he could be a real force in my opinion.

Also kudos to Cole Smith. I guess he kicked the one kickoff out of bounds but otherwise he was pretty perfect and we definitely needed it.

Heck yeah for Cole. He has taken some heat around here (deservedly) but he's been great this season.

???

Not sure what you mean there, but ok.

It was a joke, mostly.

Although, it kind of felt like a atta boy little fella post. I’m sure they didn’t mean it that way though. I’m probably salty from some OSU fans putting down UC football anytime I bring it up. I get that from WVU fans too.

Beavers has some serious closing speed. Some of those UCF plays looked like they had a chance and Beavers locked on and completely blew them up. He chose not to walk on senior day, so I think it is safe to assume he will be back.

As bad as I thought the play calling was inside the 10, gotta give credit to Denbrock on designing the TE drag plays. Almost impossible to defend, safe and it controls the ball while moving the chains.

Hands up if anyone would have bought if Ridder threw for 330+ yards that UC would have 37 minutes of possession.

I credit them for using QB runs wisely...

... unlike the previous administration who used to send non-runner, glass jawed Gunner Kiel on suicide missions.

The score really doesn't reflect how much better uc was than ucf. Scary game because of mistakes/ Redzone issues but encouraging in that we are clearly the class of the conference by a wide margin right now.

Yea, I expect we will have the better SOS by the seasons end as we have more games left, and from what should be solid teams that move us ahead of BYU.

If you take away the self inflicted issues early where we spotted them a 14-3 lead and the red zone issues, it shows the Talent gap is fairly wide and in my opinion is only widening more with our recent recruiting classes. Obviously we still have to develop those players, but no reason to believe this staff won’t.
