He also has a Montgomery Bowl & Camellia Bowl...same bowl game. He has Arkansas State in a bowl and they are 1-4 in the SBC

he actually could be right on that one — the “Fenway Bowl” set for Boston has been moved to Montgomery for just this year.

That happens every season around this time. You have 3-4 people predicting, usually, G5 matches that have already been played. This is not only one of those cases, but matches up conference mates. Dude, you had one job!

Last week he had BYU getting the G5 Access slot in the NY6 bowls.

He’s either trolling, or else he just doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

He has Tennessee vs. Marshall in the Birmingham Bowl.

Note: UT is 2-4 and will probably be 3-7 after dealing with Auburn, Florida, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.

Yes, but that could actually happen because there are no requirements for bowl eligibility this year.

I was thinking that the SEC would have enough teams with a better record to fill out all of their bowl slots.

But I checked their standings and the remaining schedules. And — yeah, they probably will have a 3-6 or 3-7 team in a bowl game this year. Maybe 2 or 3 such teams.

Go ahead and count me among those who would rather play a G5 conference champion than an SEC team with a non-winning record. Playing their 11th best team is bullsh¡t and the very definition of being sent to the kiddie table. Please, Marshall, don’t do that to yourself.

There are plenty of P5's that didn't want to play in a bowl game with a 6-6 record in past years, but they were contractually obligated to play. I doubt there will be many that will want to play in a bowl this year with a 3-7 or similar record. There is no contractual obligation requiring a team with a losing record to play in a bowl game and if they do I imagine there would be players opting out of that.

This is a fun year because it shows what happens when P5 teams only play other P5 teams. Going to be a lot of losing records in those conferences. A preview for the administrators and fans that want a P5 split.

Tennessee at 3-7 would likely be in coaching change territory. A bowl game this year won't be high on their list with that record.

That would be a travesty if Marshall only goes to the Birmingham Bowl after going undefeated. Y'all could go .500 and still go to the Birmingham Bowl.

The topic of this thread, Tech vs. UAB in a bowl, is simply dumb. No one would benefit from such a matchup. It's not going to happen.

The best bowl we have is possibly the Armed Forces Bowl, and that's not against the P5.

There are no P5 tie-ins in CUSA. As bad as it is, Birmingham at least gives us a crack at a P5.

I'm not that much interested in playing Coastal Carolina or another G5. But that's probably what ESPN will do to us.

All of this reeks of 2014, when Marshall also had a legit top 25 team, and we played no p5s, and then we just waxed the MAC Champion in our bowl game.

This season feels a lot like that.

We played a mediocre FSU and Washington team in bowls the last couple of years. People don't care or remember. Y'all should be in an access bowl if you go undefeated. Not playing in the Birmingham Bowl against a 6-6 or 7-5 P5 team that nobody cares about.
