Tough blow for Marshall trying to build their resume for possible NY6 bid.

Not sure Charlotte would have added much to their resume. Their remaining games with Rice and Middle Tennessee won't help either. Both Marshall and BYU have an open date on November 28. That game would probably help both teams.

Yes, beating Charlotte doesn't move the needle, but it is a game, a data point, something to keep their name out there this week. Now it's gone.

If Cincy were to lose to UCF and Coastal Carolina to Appalachian State this weekend (neither of which are far fetched), I wonder if Marshall would be better off by not risking a loss to BYU (who isn't eligible for the G5 NY6 slot) and taking their chances as a 10-0 conference champion (assuming they win out).

Yes, all of these teams in the market for more games, BYU included, are strategizing as to whether a particular matchup has more upside or downside.

I suspect that for Marshall, they would be better off facing BYU, but it is a close call.

Good news that the SB was able to reschedule those four missed games.

Saturday's Wake Forest-Duke game postponed, maybe cancelled, unless they reschedule to the day of ACC Championship game (12/19).

Duke and Wake have played 53 straight years. That hurts.

San Jose St @ Fresno St sets the new record at 16 cancellations this week. This guarantees that the MWC will have an unbeaten conference opponent again next week.

In the past three weeks, we've gone from 4 games canceled (postponed) to 10 to 15 now to 16.

If we can stay at 16 or maybe even a couple more cancels today, that would represent a kind of "flattening of the curve". It's not ideal of course but last week showed we can have a viable day of football with this many cancellations. We can't have the leaps-and-bounds increases that we have been seeing though.

Some basketball games are already being cancelled, and the season hasn't even started yet. It's going to be a real challenge getting in a meaningful season that is anything more than a cash grab.

I've been saying for a while I don't think a meaningful CBB season can be played. Too many teams, too many games, it's going to quickly become a logistical nightmare with the last minute cancels that will surely happen every day.

But hey, we shall see.

the American reschedules all of its heretofore postponed league contests, except for Navy-USF. No word on that one yet.

Wazzu-Stanford is off. Cougs had too few players available. Despite the Pac 12's new policy, I think it's too short notice for Stanford to face another opponent - but I could be wrong.

When did either of these schools move up to FBS? Did I miss the announcement?
