RE: Week 11 Top 25: SMU out, Tulsa in (?)
It will either be Tulsa coming into the rankings or North Carolina. Honestly, Tulsa despite playing fewer games has a better resume. Both teams have two wins over top 25 (at the time) teams, but Tulsa beat #11 and #19 while NC beat #19 and #23. Tulsa's only loss came in a close game to #14 Ok. State. NC's two losses came to unranked UVA and unranked FSU.

This weak will really show us how much P5 bias there is, because there should only be one spot up for grabs.

I hope AAC team gets the top G5 spot. It would annoy me if Marshall team UCF destroyed got top spot bc AAC is 5x tougher than CUSA/MWC/SBC.

The Sun Belt may be better than the MWC this year with two ranked teams and App St. near the TOP 25.

That 2019 team also had their doors blown off by Cincinnati.

It was a mediocre 2019 Marshall team. Completely different DNA and QB. This 2020 Marshall team is quite different.

But I respect and understand your point.

I don't think you will have to worry about Marshall taking that spot. Cincinnati will have to lose twice, and that won't happen this year.

It sucks, because normally I would be rooting really hard for Cincinnati. I like their program, and if their players had Ohio State helmets on, they would be ranked #1. It's crap.

Tulsa's only loss to a very good Oklahoma State team that is in the top 15 deserves the ranking. Whether Tulsa gets it is another story. I expect outside the Top 25, but not by much.

I need to take better attention to the first OP post. Tulsa #25. 03-thumbsup

Interesting how UCF at 5-2 remains off this list and only one vote in the AP. I get it though, none of UCF's wins have been vs teams with pulse (save for maaaaaybe Tulane and Houston wins). I figured Tulane beating Army and now Tulsa being #25 would help UCF's strength of schedule but nope, apparently not. Would a win over #7 Cincy even get them in the Top 25 at this point? UCF went from being over-rated to under-rated very fast.

The whole Big12 is vastly overrated this year. I don't see a big difference between UCF's record at 5-2 and ISU at 5-2.

Louisiana beat Iowa State, has a better record with a quality loss to CCU and is still 10 spots behind them.

Is it bad that I think Cincy, SMU, Memphis, Tulsa, Houston, Tulane and UCF would all wallop Coastal Carolina / Marshall / Louisiana?

Of course it's not "bad," unless you want to be "bad."

A touch hubristic and "badass," maybe, but not bad.

Is it "bad" that some others will disagree?

I would trust the rankings on this.

Cincy should be able to beat C. Carolina, Marshall, and Louisiana on a neutral field, but by how much, it's hard to say.

Tulsa, SMU, UCF, and probably Memphis would give them a good tussle on a neutral field and defeat them on their home fields, but maybe not on the road.

Houston and Tulane might be able to beat some of these teams on their home fields, but probably not on the road, and maybe not on a neutral field.

If C. Carolina, Marshall, and Louisiana were in the AAC, they would probably be among the top 5 or 6 best teams in the conference.

Cincy beats those teams by 2+ scores on a neutral field.

I think that's a hedge...nothing about Coastal Carolina in the two games I've watched makes me think they are any better than middle of the pack at best. I genuinely believe they'd be under .500 in the AAC.

The secondaries that they’ve been playing against are piss poor.
