MY LINE: SMU 47-31 ECU hasn't shown me enough on offense yet to make me think we can get over on SMU. If we had, I'd say this game would be ripe for an upset.

REALITY SAID: Memphis 10-7 Memphis winning didn't surprise me obviously but how the hell was this game only 10-7? I caught the end and man, that Navy kicker was so close to tying the game.

REALITY SAID: ECU 52-38 I am happy as a ECU fan to take the L here but in shooting the first half of the game I had two thoughts: where has this ECU team been all season and what is up with SMU? Special teams miscues and a turnover in the 2nd half could have spelled doom for the Pirates chances but they hung on to seal the deal.

A near-disaster for the conference from a 2020 rankings standpoint, particularly SMU's loss to ECU.

Thankfully, this being the "covid season," many will shrug it off as an asterisk type of year.
