The O looks very off tonight.

Half thoughts. The O is off. Willis is having problems and the O-line is not doing well. The D-line is having problems stopping the run. My biggest question was motivation. NC State looks motivated. LU not so much.

All that being said, 7-7 half.

That was our worst half of football this season, right?

Yes. There's definitely a talent gap. They better make some good adjustments or I'm thinking it is a 28-17 type of game.

Literally this game is painful to watch. SO many penalties. So little offense. So disjointed.

And on a superficial side note... I really like the NCSU helmets.

I am mystified how we are leading this game into the 4th quarter... but happy.

Good game. I can't believe the pack blocked the FG. NCSU was lucky to get the W tonight. I feel like the end of Rocky. Ain't gonna be no rematch.

8-1 with the sole loss to a 6-3 N.C. State team that needed a blocked field goal on the road to beat us is still pretty darn good.

What a game to show up with our worst performance of the season. Oh boy was that painful. Get it out now and be done with it. And special teams REALLY hurt us at the end though I would say the interceptions and safety lost it for us.

Listened to the post game interviews and our players were very gracious and well spoken in defeat.

I have some disappointment but this is a good perspective. I think most LU fans were hoping for one P5 win this season. LU went 2-1 and was extremely close to winning all three. The results this season are far beyond original expectations.

RE: (8-0) #21 LIBERTY @ (5-3) N.C. State
This one stings.

I think our defense held them to almost a net 0 rushing in the second half. NC state also didn't even have an offensive score in the second half, it all came from the safety and starting from the LU 26 after an interception. Held them to just over 300 yards total, which is right in line with our national defensive rank. Their QB has been hot in his past few games, it's pretty astounding we rattled him and their offense as much as they did us.

I think LU experienced the problem of being top heavy in our talent pool. They sold out and schemed to shut down Willis' ability to run and scramble, which created an offensive death spiral. Our passing game works when we have a run threat, our running game works when we have a mobile QB threat. I was shocked at his complete inability to pick up yards in outside scrambles or designed runs, stuff that just happened with ease in our previous games. He was matched athletically and couldn't exploit anyone with his speed. We probably had bad play calling, and he was just off tonight, but I think the latter was caused as much by state than him having a bad day.

This may actually improve our chances against Coastal. We get to flush all the attention, rebuild emotionally, and come into the next two games trying to take something instead of protecting what we already have.
