Thanks. The wind in our stadium can be horrendous at times since we're not fully bowled in. I think a lot of SMU's struggles had to do with that wind combined with trying to play a passing game against the 3-3-5.

There was nothing that suggested Tulsa had any kind of team this year heading into the season. This is very strange.

Fun Fact, if you take away the times that our offense shot itself in the foot (a pick six, and a fumble on the one yard line leading to an easy score) our defense really only allowed 10 earned points by the SMU offense the entire game. That's 3 fewer than Cincy allowed.

All true, but the story going into the season was will it be the last for Philip Montgomery.

This is some Collins and Player with a dominant secondary overcoming a bad HC and OC. Some of this is fools gold because of the oddness of this covid season. As pointed out this should have been Monty's last season but the strangeness of the year (we just now played our 5th game) and the fact we played pass heavy teams to start have both made us look good.

SMU gashed us on the run with a team built on the pass. UCF also gave us fits with their running game. Both teams also had some bad moments SMU was caught multiple times on one Tulsa drive for illegal substitutions. We will definitely shoot ourselves in the foot every game and we lack discipline, but there is talent on the team so if you play like us (making dumb mistakes) we will have a chance.

In fairness Tulane was solid last year, and army was EXCELLENT with an nfl talent in Perry.

That's the weakness of our base defense. We never play base defense against Navy, and their run game has given us fits every season. I think we'll probably stay in the 3-3-5 for Tulane except when Tulane goes into their triple option formation with a couple wingbacks. We'll see how we do with it.
