RE: **Covid-19 Discussion Thread** - unmoderated - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Of course, the best protection against Covid is vaccinations. We have got to the point where only the ill informed remain unvaccinated. This isn’t, or at least shouldn’t be a political issue. Almost every college educated person I know - Democrat, Republican, and Independent - is fully vaccinated as is everyone I know over the age of 65 they all considered it a no brainer. Most have already had, or will soon get boosters.

It appears that most of the unvaccinated think that they won’t get the disease, or if the do it won’t be a big deal. They need to understand that 10% of the US population is immune compromised and therefore their bodies cannot generate enough of an immune response, even if they are fully vaccinated, to keep them from getting the infected, hospitalized, or even dying. Colin Powell was one such individual.

Even if the unvaccinated don’t think that they need the vaccine for themselves, surely they should consider that they could pass the disease on to others whose immune defenses are much weaker than their own. Such a person might be a relative, or a friend, or a work associate, or even a fellow fan sitting next to them at a football or basketball game. Surely that is reason enough to get vaccinated.

Almost like they lived through some horrendous diseases and saw what vaccines did to get them under control (like polio)

This is a non-starter argument to those people. Telling them that they're helping their fellow citizen actually makes them dig in even more. This has to be positioned in a "what's in it for me" because that's all anyone cares about these days, their own immediate gratification or benefit. A certain class of Americans are too dumb to see beyond the end of their nose and understand how sometimes collective action is beneficial at an individual level. A consequence of 70 years of fighting communists that turned the very idea of doing anything together into an existential threat against the country

You’re the perfect specimen. Never enough shots, always a variant always spread by kids. Maybe think for yourself one day

I've made it a point to stay out of this cesspool, and I will continue to do so, but I ran up on an excellent reply for Covid anti-vaxxers that I wanted to share.

Wow what did uab99 do to get banned finally? The months and months of idiotic, inflammatory, and conspiracy-theory laden drivel on the main board didn’t get him banned…
