I wasn't a fan of the Houston hire. I like the man and his coaching style, but his hires have been horrible. I dont know that he can rebuild a program that is buried luke ECU. I dont know that ECU has the resources to support him.

Not a huge fan of Ahlers right now either. Not much leadership on display since the Tulsa game. Bad decision making, no drive. You can tell he's already mailed this game in. Hard to yank a hometown QB with as much potential ad he has/had, but he wont get the job done.

The real shame will be the transfers out of the program. I wouldn't be surprised to see Harris and Johnson leave in the spring, if they even finish this season.

3-4 more loaing seasons ahead. Looking back to when ECU owned a fairly dominant winning record against most of our current conference mates, it's hard to believe how far the program has fallen.

Is it even possible to set a program back a decade when you can recruit a whole new team in 4 years? We need time to develop our lines and then we’ll be back.

Of course. Poor performance hinders recruiting. Quality of recruits suffer, player development take longer, wins come slower, the 'star' players transfer out when the wins don't come fast enough and you're left with a subpar team year after year. A school like ECU lacks the resources to hire a coach that can bring in enough 4 star players to build back a program in 3-4 years. The result is a under .500 program that manages flashes of potential and then the coach moves on and the cycle le repeats itself.

The Bearcats penalty yards are all because they were trying to help the other teams get back in the game so that the score wasn't so one sided. The Pirates penalty yards are all because of cheating.

UC. 9 for 104 yards
ECU- 3 for 35 yards

ECU has 179 yards total yards

I'm referring to that wonderful thread from prior to him even enrolling at ECU that some posters started and honestly tried to argue why he would be one of the best QBs in college football.
