The play calling is terrible tonight. Also where is Samson Evans, he looked good last week.

Answer coaching and horrific offensive play calling! RECRUITING has to change as well! Grissom would look great on Toledo! Why, utilization of his talents! At EMU he plays 5 plays a game! Baffling

CC needs to hire an OC that can open things up. It'll also enable him to help the defense.

I remember asking before the season you guys said it'd be a rebuilding year. Looks like you guys lost nailbiters to Kent & Ball. Needed & should've beat Ball, but Kent looks good so was a tough draw & Toledo's always good. Not making excuses, but it's the MAC: anything can happen.

In regards to 'why not us': you guys got to work on improving recruiting. Start by winning those nailbiters. Maybe try more P5 transfers? That's what Central does

Probably the most discouraging loss in recent CC history. Most CC teams are at least disciplined and don't beat themselves. Not this year's team. Stupid mndless penalties are KILLING us and by players that should know better. About the only bright spot has been the special teams. Yes our defense did have 3 turnovers including one that was called back but it isn't stopping anyone. No Evans, no Boone no Drummond although Drummond was on the sidelines. Boy do we miss Vann. First rule of running backs is to take care of the ball and Mackey and Bess III didn't do that. Smith showed some flashes though but our overall running attack just don't exist. Again I'm not calling for CC's head, the first two games were competitive. We got three to play. Lets hope the defense improves, the running attack becomes consistent and we stop these game killing penalties.

I almost forgot, defensive guys are at there spots but NOT EXECUTING due to poor tackling. This has been a consistent hallmark of this year's defense that goes back to CC's early days but improved over the years. We now have regressed.

the offense reminds me of robacks senior year after everyone figured out he liked fade routes they started defending fade routes. hutch likes RPO so theyre defending the RPO. we need more creativity on offense and we gotta stretch the field. it doesnt help that the offensive line were turnstiles half the time.

on defense - you gotta tackle better and you gotta get off the field. stop allowing third and long plays to work. they force turnovers well enough. that was a ron english ass looking game though - i hope there arent more of them this year.

The defense was the defense I thought. They haven't played very well this year, and I think the offense playing awful exposed that even more. I thought the pass rush was a bit better, but the secondary looked poor. Shine really had a rough night, a lot of work going forward for him.

The offense was really bad. As someone point out Toledo basically keyed in on taking away zone read from Hutchinson and that was that. It was still puzzling though, because through the first two games (playing pretty good teams) we had some combination of Drummond, Parks, Beydoun, Evans, Boone, and Cannon out yet the offense was still able to produce and keep us in (and nearly win) both games. Tonight....flat. Also, I assume Grissom must be out since he didn't play at all.

Overall...it sucked. The defense was dominated, the offense couldn't do anything and looked uninspired. Hopefully we get it rolling for CMU in 8 days.

Side note, I did notice Drummond on the sideline last night (not dressed). That leads me to think his issue is an injury and not COVID related.

Drummond's loss (like Golladay for the Lions) really seems to hamper the offense.
