There is a line you can't cross. And you can't cross it just a lil and then scream Im Sorry.
I never said those things were okay. I simply said players today are becoming harder to trust because a lot of things that have been said in previous cases just haven't been true.
And some of the stuff you just mentioned about Koenning aren't even totally factual.
In the case of Vic Koenning, it became clear that some of the truths were stretched by the accusing players, and things weren't a clear depiction of what may have actually been occurring. A lot of hyperbole, especially when a player says a coach has a "slave master" mentality. Sounds better to say those kinds of phrases, even if they aren't true, if you're wanting to get your point across. Even Neal Brown basically said in his Twitter statement that the truth wasn't being told.
On top of that, although the allegations were supported by some players, it was disputed by others on the WVU team through social media. Even one of the accuser's former HS head coach said one of the stories he told was a lie.
Koenning and WVU mutually agreed to part ways, but not before the school agreed to pay him the rest of his contract. That means they didn't have just cause to straight up terminate him and his contract. And WVU sure as heck wouldn't have kept him hired on, no matter if the facts favored Koenning, because it would've turned into a "cancel WVU" rallying cry.
