What are you trying to capture? AAC inventory as per the primary media rights deal?
You're missing BYU at Houston.

Also, sports media watch has last weekend, but it doesnt yet include some data from Showbuzz Daily: none of ours absent from that I guess

My bad. Corrected for BYU @Houston. Yes, the data is for games under the AAC contract is correct. I added that explanation.

RE: AAC TV Ratings by ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2
UC vs Houston had 1.39m and aired at the same time as UF vs Georgia which is a big time rivalry game. I think UC vs Houston did really well number wise. Especially for a game that wasn't particularly close.

That UC vs Houston game beat out:

MSU vs Iowa, Texas A&M vs SCAR, KU vs Oklahoma, TTU vs TCU, Baylor vs Iowa St. UNC vs Duke, UCLA vs CU.

I'll just say that >300k is a pretty low bar.
You'll end up tracking a lot, without any discrimination between signal and noise.
Discussions a couple years ago led to my tracking 1 million, 2 million, and 3 million viewer games from AAC and the "G4" conferences.
https://csnbbs.com/thread-901519.html

Not that there is any magic about those three threshholds, just that's what grew out of those discussions.

I seem to have lost a couple of older spreadsheets, but have 2018-2020 data for all ten FBS conferences: all games, conference inventory, and intra-conference.
I took advantage of the holiday to finally build the tabs for the late starters (mwc, MAC, and PAC12).

The MAC schools have put up some solid impressive viewership numbers, such as:

TOLEDO-WMU 722 K

compare to this:

CALIFORNIA-UCLA 234 K

The network that broadcasted Toledo v. WMU sure got their money's worth, when you consider that the broadcaster that televised Cal-UCLA had to pay the PAC-12 about 25 times as much money to broadcast the Cal-UCLA game.

You're comparing an ESPN Wednesday night game to an FS1 game on Sunday, which was scheduled only two days earlier.

Yes, the Tuesday/Wednesday MACtion games have been very good. That one beat the prior game which was already a "best MACtion since..."

Edited to add: We still have multiple AAC vs AAC games better. But the last couple weeks have been less than awesome for the AAC. Cincinnati-ECU on Friday night on ESPN was behind that Wednesday MACtion on the week, and got spanked in timeslot by a Big10 game on FS1. I haven't even pulled these latest numbers in and crunched them. I think overall, at the end of the season, we'll be on par with the last couple years - relative to the five ahead of us and relative to the four below us.

Week 12 has some good games with high viewership potential, including:

Cincy-UCF (marquee game; 3:30 pm ESPN)

Tulane-Tulsa (TV likes Tulane; top 25 game); 7:30 pm ESPN)

perhaps a notch lower: HOUSTON-SMU (regional rivalry) noon ESPU

Week 13:

UCF-USF (regional rivalry) 3:30 ESPN

Memphis-Tulane (Tulane again; TBA)

Tulsa-Houston (top 25 game; TBA)

Week 14:

Cincy-Tulsa (Battle of top 25 teams) (9:00 pm ESPN)

Houston-Memphis (TBA)

Week 15:

Army-Navy (3:00 pm CBS)

Week 16:

AAC Championship Game

Agreed - I think this week a couple games can be very telling for how the AAC really performs.
I'd like to see the Thursday night ranked Tulsa game get over 700k. Over a million will be very good viewership.
Cincinnati UCF on ESPN at 3:30 will be up against Wisconsin on ABC, and a BigXII game on Fox, but no SEC on CBS. 1.5 million? More?
The noon ESPNU game - 300k would be a big win.

The UC-ECU game was the second highest rated Friday night game on ESPN2 this season (only FSU-GT in week 2 was higher) . I am guessing there are fewer people watching TV on a Friday night than Wednesday generally as they are out to dinner and doing other things.

The UC-ECU game was the second highest rated Friday night game on ESPN2 this season (only FSU-GT in week 2 was higher) . I am guessing there are fewer people watching TV on a Friday night than Wednesday generally as they are out to dinner and doing other things.

I was out at a brewery and then went to a cocktail bar but had them turn on the game at both locations lol.

Thanks for the correction.
I think I was scrolling through and comparing the ESPN2 game to ESPN Thursday-Friday numbers - I did myself exactly what I poked at Jed for doing.

Good number for ESPN2, but I think not great number. And I definitely don't like being THAT far behind FS1

Say what you want about the quality of play on the field, but you have to understand Midwesterners. Those people tune in to watch B10 football. Even schools like Iowa and Minnesota have 400-500,000 alumni and basically their whole states bunker down to watch the game. People who live elsewhere in the region and support other teams will watch as well This has been going on for at least 40 years if not longer. Other than the SEC and parts of the B12 this doesn't happen elsewhere. Its just the way it is and that is why they get paid $55M a year or whatever per team.

I usually throw on any game with an AAC team playing on YouTubeTV regardless if I am actively watching or not.

RE: AAC TV Ratings by ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2
.

To date, fourteen non-P5 teams have played in at least one 1-million+ viewership game during the 2020 season.

Of these, eight (57%)
(Cincy, UCF, Memphis, Navy, Houston, Tulsa, SMU, and Tulane) are AAC teams. Four (28.5%) are Sun Belt teams, 1 (Marshall) is a C-USA team, and 1 (BYU) is an independent.

Five non-P5 teams (Memphis, Houston, Navy, BYU, and Ark. State) have played in two 1-million+ viewership games.

Two non-P5 teams (Cincy and UCF) have played in at three 1-million+ viewership games.
