He's from and loves South Carolina. I think you'll see him turn up again at Winthrop or College of Charleston -- a job he accepted in 2006 before reneging.
Yup. I Definitely think that’s where he’ll end up.
Honestly our fans are still enamored with him and his name pops up after every loss so never say never
Cliff Ellis will be 75 in less than a month, it’s highly probably that he retires from Coastal after this season. Marshall takes the Coastal gig and rehabilitates his image (would also work if he were to, say, replace Ritchie McKay at Liberty or Ron Sanchez at Charlotte — near his old Winthrop stomping grounds —- after this upcoming season). He excels in the Sun Belt/CUSA/A-Sun for a year or two and once his faux contrition/redemption tour is done, he then jumps at the Tennessee job if they part with Rick Barnes, Clemson if they dump Brownell, or Georgia if they split with Crean. Could also see him eventually getting the Mizzou or Arkansas jobs if they open given his Midwest ties. However, even if President Caslen at South Carolina were to clean house (Tanner, Muschamp and Martin (not that I think Frank deserves it)), I don’t see Marshall ever ending up as coach in Columbia (the real one that is actually in the Southeast).
Barnes retiring or taking another UCLA-like job makes sense. I don't think TN is going to fire Barnes any time soon though.

Does UConn have their own version of the IAA? That’s the group fronting the bill for Marshall. Koch money.
I don’t disagree, though. And like UConn catching some flack for not wanting to pay Ollie, I hope for some bad optics for Wichita actually paying this much to cut ties, tax money or no; seems fair.

Good article quoting lawyers on why Wichita State settled for a $7.75m buyout instead of seeking to avoid paying him anything on a "for cause" basis. Also, I didn't realize that the contractual buyout was $15m, so Marshall negotiated down as well.

“For cause” needn’t be that complex or sticky to define. It’s just that you having accusing parties that don’t follow all of the steps to define their cases.
What’s coming out from Wichita is rough to hear. It reflects poorly on the university if this wasn’t news and that they just let him get away with stuff for way too long, and maybe along the way reinforcing him with incentives and other praise. Marshall has leverage even after these issues. That’s on the school.
It’s not easy in higher ed. You can have total monsters and ogres at the front of a lecture hall who can terrorize (they’d use “challenge”) students and other faculty members and hide behind tenure and the first amendment. It makes for a very tough place to review, investigate, and administer employee relations. Not surprising it’s not done well elsewhere in the schools.

Is he still being paid by Ohio State?

Bravo. Well played, sir. I’d venture to say no Wichita fan has ever heard such a clever and original adaptation of their mascot. Hats off to you.
Oh they have heard it before, but I bet none of them still get it

A school who could afford it versus a school who was hemorrhaging money.
PLUS: Ollie cost UConn money - Marshall only cost them some shame and embarrassment

RE: Marshall out at Wichita
Does Wichita have the resources to pay Marshall $1.25m per year for the next 6-7 years and $4m per year for a "name" coach, plus staff salaries, expenses, etc.?

Yep, they're loaded. They've got a major donor by the name of Koch.
