This is such a shame, John Feinstein is a good author and one of the VERY FEW AP Poll voters that pays attention to all of Division I and ranks teams based upon their talent/results instead of the name on their uniform or the conference in which they play.

That Army 70 - Houston 14 football game was closely contested until the opening kickoff.

Tough times over on Cullen Boulevard as the Coog faithful see Holgerson taking the football program into the middle of the AAC, losing sight of Memphis, UCF, and Cincinnati (maybe even SMU). Not surprising to see this right after their game Saturday with Cincy.

What was it that Renu Khator said after firing Major Applewhite? Something about defining success as 10-2 and firing coaches that go 8-4?

I think its funny as hell. Doesnt this guy write sports articles where he criticizes coaches, players, and schools for the moves and decisions they make? Heck, looking at his twitter he's got a bunch of political rants on there....so I guess he's an expert on government as well. He certainly seems more than capable of dishing out criticism...honestly, it seems like he's kinda being a sniveling little princess about the whole thing.

Actually I'm not a Houston fan but I'm even less of a Feinstein fan - he's a major prick. Good for UH.

People like this needs to either grow a backbone or stay off twitter. I dont keep up with twitter or this person but he sounds like a person that needs approve from people that he never will personally know. People that will not matter one bit in his life.

Maybe he needs to reach down take his hand and grab between his legs...

probably wont get a handful of balls. Sounds like he's pretty much ball less. My god, if you cant take the heat...stay off the f'ing social media. It's f'ing embarrassing to say you quit because you cant handle what comes across your twitter feed

The people that go to Houston are the ones that couldn't get in Rice, Texas or Texas AM. What am I saying, anyone that ends up at Houston never put an application in at Rice.

His book about the Army-Navy Football game ("A Civil War") is one of the best books about college football I have ever read...but I like almost everything he writes. He used to provide color commentary for Navy football games and at a Rice-Navy game in Annapolis, he autographed a couple of copies of the book...one went to Fred Goldsmith and one to Ken Hatfield....The guy is a great writer..
