Unless Clemson (with Lawrence back) beats them by 20 in the ACC championship game and they miss the playoffs.

If Clemson wins out they go to the playoffs. Even if they beat ND by 1 point because the game will be played on a neutral field and Clemson has a built in excuse for their loss.

If ND wins out and loses a close game to Clemson in the Championship game that is where it gets interesting...Do you let them both in?

Independent in football. ACC is all other sports. Won't be meeting in ACC title game.

This season they are “in the ACC” for one season and can actually win the ACC championship.

Looked like everyone was masked up. So according to our experts they should be good.
Right? But seriously, the students should have done better than that.

What have I missed? I thought ND was only an associate member of the ACC (scheduling agreement), and were still independent as a football program. Why would they be involved in a championship game?

ETA: nevermind, just saw post 25. That's crazy...

I'm amazed that Notre Dame has lowered its image of itself enough to storm the field after defeating a lowly Land Grant school from the South?

Knocking off #1 is always a big deal. The students stormed the field. Youngsters do that sort of thing.

I remember one year they were invited to a bowl but declined because the bowl wasn't good enough for them.

It is what it is.

Notre Dame shouldn't. They should be above that. They are certainly treated that way. Like somebody else that has been in the news lately.

It's not a Notre Dame thing and it's not a Trump lover or Liberal or trans thing. It is an everyone under the age of 40 thing. Our two biggest cities in Canada voted almost straight liberal with no Conservatives elected, and both by far have the most cases and the most deaths.

The kids don't give a ****. They hold rallies, protests, gather by the thousands in parks, have parties, and don't social distance. They are the ones responsible for most of the deaths.

Let kids be kids. They beat number 1. If we ever beat the number 1 team on our field, the field will be stormed...

Yes. But we don't consider ourselves above all other teams like they do. I'm very surprised that the ND alums/faithful aren't up in arms over the fact that their students stormed the field for a southern state school.
