I bet you don't, may replace you, definitely another team you can't beat
We do not need a school whose education standards are even below Marshall's. They can go pound sand.
Per US News, FAU is 272 and Marshall is 284 for 2021. Don’t sit there and act like FAU is Johns Hopkins.

That would also exclude FIU :-D
Actually, FIU is in a better boat academically than most of our C-USA brethren

FIU's rank is 187 but that has nothing do with academic selectiveness.

No one is interested in expanding to 15 programs. The OP clearly stated that Liberty being added would be predicated on DOA being dropped.
Okay pardon my lack of knowledge but what or who is DOA?
Old Dominion?
Dead On Arrival
DOA is the same as ODU per my smartphone. I have a really smart phone.

And to think FIU was one dropped 2-pt conversion away from taking Liberty to OT on the road... How long ago that seems...

Some folks just don’t get it. Their recently fired nepotistic president liked to watched a pool boy with his wife. And that is just scratching the surface of Falwell U. Hmm, I wonder why CUSA rejected their buy-in offer to the conference??

You know, that "school" is offensive to my sensibilities. Yes, they are horrifically ideological, but I can live with that. I can not live with C-USA's brass claiming that we care about academics if Liberty's membership is even remotely considered (I hope it is not).

I think if Fallwell jr didn't push the boundaries so much, and Liberty wasn't as political as they had become, I don't think most people would care either way about Liberty and it's athletics, which on the whole with it's facilities and competitive nature are actually quite robust.
For most people, the sting of the Fallwell's is just too much to overcome. But again, they're not there anymore.
And I love a rational, logical, honest, caring, respectful and empathetic conversation about faith and politics. But even if I was the most winsome, humble person making my point on this board, the thread would get derailed so hard, and become so offensive with others taking it way too far, that I'm just going to keep my mouth shut.
But if we were in person having a couple beers over a campfire, best believe we'd be having this conversation!

No worries mate. The CUSA ship sailed long ago. We wouldn’t accept an invite now anyway. On to bigger and better.

I’m sure you know their coffers are overflowing as a result of internet degrees - and “passing the plate.” But, you’re spot on, they are a degree mill. Liberty/falwell u is a pariah in Virginia. Everyone who lives in Virginia knows.

I agree with you on every point. I meant to respond to your other post, but I took exception to using Marshall as an example of poor academics when we are an R2 school and not so far behind FAU in ranking. There are, what, seven schools in CUSA behind us?

I think Liberty is in a very unique situation. They appear to be a program that has the means and the will to actually excel as an FBS Independent. They obviously don't need a conference. I know I'm jealous of what they are doing on the field.

Likely they will be. If that conference formed tomorrow you would have 3 ranked teams right off the bat with Marshall, Liberty and Coastal Carolina. Not bad.
