What is our conference doing that so many other conferences aren’t? How do we miss this many more games than anyone else?
Selfishly, marshal how in holy creation are y’all having guys sit due to contact tracing but it’s not wiping out the entire roster like it is the rest of us? (I didn’t even know about that, I just saw a poster here mention y’all had people out.)
Im not accusing anyone of anything, I just don’t understand what the hail is going on.

LOL @ the Dutch.
Seriously though, Germany's very strict Reinheitsgebot (purity law), which governs what can go into the beer brewed in Germany and is over 500 years old, probably holds Germany back from being #1, though it's definitely a top 3-5 overall. The good thing about the Reinheitsgebot is that it ensures high quality and stops the addition of various additives and other chemicals. The bad thing is that it disallows today's fashionable flavorings such as rye, herbs, spices, coffee or fruit.
Most of the oldest breweries in the world are in Germany though, including what's generally considered to be the oldest of them all (Weihenstephan, established in 1040), but some of the youngest brewers in Germany are frustrated by the ancient Reinheitsgebot and are starting to challenge it.
German brewers are doing some stuff(IPA, spiced Ales, etc) that doesn't follow Reinheitsgebot, but they can't market it as "beer" lol. My companies global headquarters are in The Ruhr/NRW, so i've sampled lots of Dusseldorf style alt biers, which is one of my favorite styles as well as some German IPAs.
If you find yourself in Charlotte for a game, or otherwise, you really should go to Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, they follow Reinheitsgebot and their flagship Altbier is better than anything i've had in Dusseldorf, and i've gotten lots of very surprised reactions from some snooty German executives when they come over.

I like Weihenstephan. Yes, very solid beer history volk, +2.
I like ale. It's much easier to brew, much quicker to brew, and as you noted, can easily add character to the flavor notes.
Germany can do pilsner and lager well. However, I'm a Belgian Ale guy right now. Ask me in five years, and my palate may change.
I used to love IPA's, now not so much.
And Dutch, huh? What's the general profile of Dutch beer?
A green bottle with "Heineken" on it?
I've never liked Heineken.
I haven't had a beer in three years.

Western has not missed any games this year...
the way things have went probably get the last 2 canceled, FIU and UNCC
So far I think Marshall, Western, Middle are the only 3 schools not to have a game canceled because of covid cases. In the west, only UTSA

Some teams, well, football just isn’t important to them - especially when they are a 3 touchdown dog.

Breaking news just in, hot off of Twitter: COVID-19 is on the rise. Apparently people are having large at-home parties and giving each other the 'Rona. However, most of these people are not attending football games! How can this be?!

These restrictive governors can take it where the sun don't shine. They're not stopping my Thanksgiving or Christmas.
My wife told me last night that I think the state of Washington made it so that if you do go to your families for Thanksgiving, you have to force quarantine for 14 days.
Unbelievable.

Now back to the much more important topic at hand.
I'm pretty sure I'm out on IPA's now.
I had the new session IPA and pilsner from Highland Gaelic Ale. Actually, kind of surprisingly, the pilsner was much more crisp and had a better taste to me than the IPA.
This is the information we're all craving right now.

clt says it is easier to make a decent ipa than a Pilsner. Thus, every generic craft brewer had a ipa
