I saw Bowers get the ball out quickly and generally hit his targets. With fewer drops he would have had quite good stats. Except for the pick and particularly the fumble that is.

Bowers had good stats even with the five or so drops. By the way, if Rudolph catches that pass in the end zone then Bowers doesn't throw the pick six two plays later and it's potentially 42-37 instead of 49-30. You never know what else would happen of course but it shows how close they were even with all the fumbles.

Honestly this is a game we should have won. Scoreboard doesn’t show it, but the D settled in and the offense had a groove.

Much better than anything you could say about the offense last season.

Personally, in 2nd Q Imho, Buffalo mixed in the pass a bit more than last year maybe because they are trying to establish a more balanced offense so teams don't stack the line against the run. They must have felt they had control of the game.

Either way they aren't dominant in that area and NIU held their own.

My belief is after the first quarter Buffalo didn't feature their strength because they didn't have to.

If Rudolph makes the TD catch the pick 6 didn't even happen. 14 point swing. Bowers was aggressive and made the mistake.

The mistake wasn't on Bowers. Rudolph didn't run the route correctly. He stopped coming inside so the DB was able to shoot the gap between the olineman and Rudolph. More than likely his feet stopped because he was thinking about making sure he caught the ball since he had just dropped that TD. He is young, he will learn and start playing instead of thinking.

I thought our offense played well. Our defense was not ready to stop the run though. Hopefully we get stronger against the run and can get a pass rush going next game. We seem to have a bunch of young talent around Bowers which is good. They will get better every game. Hopefully everyone uses this free eligibility and comes back for a full season next year.

Lot of positive comments about the young guys which is good and accurate, however Fr mistakes and you lose.Rudulph doesn't make those errors in year 3, Hansen doesn't try to just bump an NFL type back out on the sidelines, won't even get into some Fr getting crushed in that dline. CRUSHED. Work in progress, entertaining team,, couple years away if LINEMAN develop. ,...not really worried about the skills..
