I agree that Alexander looked like he was able to get off of blocks and make plays from the DT position.
Anyone know if the kid from Whitmer who transferred in from Kentucky is eligible this season?

Butler is eligible but didn't notice him getting worked in quite yet. Watching the game, there were only maybe 5 or 6 drops backs where BG really allowed the QB to look downfield and frequently there was pressure or a hand in his face. It appeared to me they were trying to protect him with more quick passes but Hines was still disruptive swatting a pass down and forcing an interception. Sacks will likely come to this bunch.

Noticed that Bolden was more disciplined and Dyontae Johnson was playing downhill quite a bit. Nice to see our LB not looking lost.

Your post wasn't civil. Don't you even realize, almost every post you make anymore is complaining someone else has an opinion? You give no facts that dispute their interpretation of events. You simply complain about their interpretation.

It's a discussion board. Not a big deal to disagree. The everyone agree or else board, I think that's "Facebook."

Open dialogue on a message board whether it be civil or uncivil, is a good thing...
Getting back to topic, QB play, IMO was par for Peters, not bad but not great... A couple of balls needed to be caught though...

I recall a couple like that too. Since the spider cam came into being, I'm less critical. So much easier to see what the QB sees and doesn't see. How little time they have and the passes those guys make, wow.Same on the receiver end. Most of the time, I think they instinctively guess where their hands should be. No WAY they see that ball into their hands when it's coming between a defender's arm and body.

It was hard to tell how bad BG was and therefore how good the rockets are. I guess we will have a much better idea of how good this team is by this time next week. It seems like the title may be decided next wed vs WMU and it may be the most important game of the year. Hopefully Covid does not impact this next game.

PS: It was great to see Bradley congratulating Peters at the end of the game - even lifting him up in celebration. Since Finn played in front of Bradley you have to think some life dreams for Bradley are in jeopardy if he ends up needing to transfer down a level to get playing time.

At first I thought the same thing. Then I realized that when Finn came in, it was not to pass the ball, but to help run the ball and take the clock down. It also helps him get used to the game at the college level since the speed is definitely faster. They were not going to bring Carter in to just hand the ball off. He was not going to pass or they could be accused of trying to run the score up.

Having said all of that - you do have to wonder about Carter's upside if Peters beat him out for the starting job. It's not like he is an All-MAC Qb at this point - but it would be great if he becomes one as the season goes on.

I give Peters a little grace on 3 of his incompletions in the 1st Quarter that just sailed on him. There was a pretty stiff wind going towards the north end zone and I imagine he was a little amp'd up for his first game as the true #1 guy throwing those early deep balls. Personally, I thought he settled in nicely, OC did a nice job of getting him some easy completions and utilizing our athletes / route running on some of the underneath stuff. I think those are the throws Peters needs to make all season. If he can be between 75-80% and not turn the ball he will lead this team to Detroit.

We have better athletes at WR then our opponents have on defense. Get the ball to these guys in space and keep that 8th man out of the box to let our RB's run wild. Campbell used to run that damn bubble screen 25 times a game to get Reedy, Page, etc. the ball and let them run and make plays. Not saying Candle will call the same bubble screen but I am fine with these underneath routes combined with the run and some play action shots down the field.
