Looks like we've added a game on Dec. 9, Wed., at home against Carolina University. This is a non-NCAA program out of Winston-Salem, NC.

Ohhhhhkay.

edit note: also, home game on Black Friday vs Norfolk State now listed as a noon tip

Anyone know why JMU is traveling to Richmond to play George Mason in the feces U tournament on Dec. 12, but not playing the rams on the second day? Seems strange that JMU and vcu would only play one game, while GMU and ODU each play two.

Would be awesome if JMU could play Vcu- need to get that series back on the schedule!

With the new crowd restrictions- essentially just friends and families of the players it’s better that you don’t waste a great home opponent in an empty new arena. There will be plenty of big home games in front of sold out crowds when things normalize post pandemic.

No kidding, I'm one of the minority that would prefer to keep the bow on it for one more year, but I understand why that will not happen.

Mixed feelings, but I still think playing in the new arena will pay dividends next year. This will get our teams used to playing in the new arena (even if it does feel like scrimmages). I'm going to look at this as glass half full: I wanted us to have a new coach for a season to build excitement/momentum before opening the new arena...this basically does that in a sucky sort of way. I don't think any of the 'shiny new arena' appeal will be lost between this year and next year, but we will (hopefully) get a really good year under our belts to get people back on the wagon and next year will be even bigger than this year would have been under normal circumstances.

So basically we're trapped into buying flo if we want to see JMU basketball or football this fall/spring?

Man - I'm out of it.

I just realized today the NBA draft is tomorrow, and JMU basketball seasons start in only a week. I was not aware of either.

Covid has certainly messed up sports seasons......

I am a BIG JMU sports fan and apathy has definitely set in for me. I am over all the bait and switch, goal post moving.

Sorry to pile on, but have to agree with the sentiment. Flo will NEVER see another dollar of mine. Ever!

If JMU would produce its own productions ala Madizone and charge me $20 a month, I'd be all over it. I realize being a member of the CAA, there are likely contractual stipulations that disallow this and we have to play nice along with this idiotic partnership with a horrible provider (Flo Sports).

I guess it will be mostly Live Stats and occasional radio following for me this winter. So sad.

It's funny that you say "not to pile on" because I had this whole diatribe typed out starting from Frisco 2020 (crappy weather and facilities) and how the year has gone down hill and the apathy has only gotten stronger including not being back on campus this fall for football or losing the uva game, etc, etc. Then to see $69/month to watch a historically bad basketball - I am 100% willing to pay JMU direct for Madizone (and have suggested this for years) but will not be spending a dime with flo or any subset dressed up as Flo+. JMU has missed the mark a million times this fall - and I LOVE JMU, borderline unhealthy obsession. I can only imagine how the casual fan feels.

Feel the need to remind us that JMU voted No when the conference voted in favor of the Flo Sports deal. We got hosed by this one for sure. I will not be buying Flo.

OK, that settles it. Everybody invited to Hyper's man cave to watch games, empty his liquor cabinet, smoke his cigars, and pillage through his refrigerator at will. And then, we all come back the next day and do it again for the Swimming & Diving meet.

04-cheers
