Considering lack of other programming any football is good.

RE: Does MACtion do anything for you?
I think I like the idea of MACtion more than I display watching much of it.

I think the MAC has a good thing going with tight geography, natural rivalries, some relationships that allow games with Big10 big boys for both exposure and payday games. Maybe less so nowadays, but there was a time when the MAC meant innovative wide open offenses - so much of what is now routine at the bigtime programs originated (or developed) in the MAC. That was part of the appeal of tuning in to those Tuesday/Wednesday night games. Still lose a lot of coaches to contract-bowl-conference teams.

Now, however, my commute sucks and other priorities, yada, yada, yada, I don't tune in to much of anything on a weeknight.

The Tuesday/Wednesday night deal is a classic Faustian bargain. The branding has stuck -- no air quotes used on MACtion throughout this thread. It is undeniably exposure that they wouldn't get competing with the glut of other games on a Saturday - or even Thursday-Friday night. But man, it kills attendance. And I fear that that kills long time devoted fandom. Not just alums today who would drive from wherever on a Saturday but not on a Tuesday...students who don't get the Saturday full day of gameday experience because of the TV deal are less likely to be longterm fans.

As for me - a classmate's son is a RS Freshman O-lineman for Buffalo...so I'll probably stream at least the first half - maybe have it background on a device as I do other things, maybe truly watch it. Thing about O-Linemen, if I hear his name, it may not be good news...

In case you were wondering how little ESPN cares about the MAC, Toledo vs. BGSU is getting bumped off their start time by a regular season women's college volleyball game.

RE: Does MACtion do anything for you?
Sportsmediawatch.com has the MAC numbers from Wednesday. "MACtion returns with multi-year high" is the headline.
https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2020/11...night-ucl/

Ohio-CMU averaged 711,000 viewers on ESPN. Best mid-week MACtion viewership since 2015. Most viewers of any MAC vs MAC game since 1.36 million watched PJ Fleck's WMU squad row the boat to a Cotton Bowl bid in the 2016 MAC CCG.

Four AAC vs AAC games this season have done better than 711k. UCF Memphis has already beaten that 2016 MAC CCG this year, and it won't be the last.

I did watch some of the Miami game and was glad to see their backup QB (local kid) get some playing time and looked great. There may be a QB controversy in Oxford soon.

Watching or at least have it on in the background, Miami of Ohio against Buffalo. Two 1-0 teams.
