Wtf is wrong with you?

Really? With 4 1/2 minutes to go in the game, suddenly the person calling up the plays finds a way to lay waste to the USF defense for 2 scores in 3 1/2 minutes? Really? Where the 'F was this person for the rest of the game. That win is on Brady and the team, nobody else.

He ran the two minute offense they practice every Wednesday.

We have had a good to great stretch the past couple of years, looks like some of our fans have gotten a little spoiled or suffer from Ricky Bobby syndrome.

New coach/ 1st time coach, limited practice/ offense’s tops playmakers opting out, only 1 OL starter returning to same position as last year.....this is very much a rebuilding year whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not. Offense was supposed to be a strength, but even with White back at QB, we only have 2 starters retuning at their position ( him & EZee), last years starting guards have moved to tackle & center & new guards have limited experience & our run game appears impacted now that team has been scouted.

I still trust the process & will enjoy the success and look for growth as we have lots of young guys getting snaps right now.

Now look, don't go bringing logic and facts into play here. It doesn't mesh with the current Chicken Little mindset of some.

BTW, I agree whole-heartedly with what you're saying. 04-cheers

Not to mention the defense making a big stand between the touchdowns.

Norvell took over for Fuente in December 2015. On November 12, 2016 we were 6-4 including two losses to ranked teams. Silverfield is 4-2 with both losses to ranked teams. Were people calling for Norvell’s head? There’s no way to know how Silverfield will play out, but Norvell ended up doing okay.

Look, it's not the record. It's the WAY we lost in SMU and Cincinnati. We lost due to lack of defensive secondary being ACTUAL MEN about tackling, and IMAGINATION on offensive play-calling.

Now... I'm not calling for their heads. Get that straight. I am wiling to admit that this will take some time. But let's not kid ourselves about talent. We have it. They need to be coached on how to win IMPORTANT games. Not just skim by the skin of our teeth to beat a 1-5 team in our own stadium.

I get it. I think many have concerns. I’m not predicting he‘s the next up of successful Memphis coaches. I’m just a live in the moment sort (vs doom and gloom), and at this moment we are 4-2 after some notable setbacks with the roster. I’ll worry about (or be happy about) what happens next after it happens. For now, I’m hoping to beat Navy and move to 5-2.

Geo, you hit the nail on the head and made the points that I was trying to make.

Browning, I hear you about living in the here and now, but in my job, I have to look for trends and try to predict the future. It is the way I am wired. I look at history, the here and now, with an eye toward where is this train heading. Eyes wide open kind of thing.

Should I pay my house off when I retire next year or keep the money in my 401k and just withdraw enough yearly to make my house payment?

That depends on the difference between what you’re losing in interest keeping a house note vs what you’re earning in your 401k.

Guess we do need someone to predict how fast Biden is going to get his hands on your 401k...

Is this the beginning of the downhill slide of the program?

Is your glass half empty or half full?

What was our record 2 years ago.

8-6

And Missouri beat our brains in that year.

It may turn out that Silverfield is not the answer...But right now his perfromance is no worse than Norvel's

We lost to a ranked team on the road in the last minute in our first game in a month. We barely practiced, had 2 practices with the full team and didn't do any tackling. Where have you been? Is this news to you?

Quote:Look, it's not the record. It's the WAY we lost

Which of these losses was losing a better way?

- Navy finished 3-10 with their only other wins against 3-8 not D1 Lehigh and 3-9 Tulsa
- The game against Missouri where we were down 48-20 at halftime and gave up 65 points
- Getting killed by a 1-3 Tulane team that sacked White 8 times after having only 6 total sacks in their first 4 games
- The two games against UCF where we lead by 13 and 17 points at halftime and then got outscored 49-3.
- Wake Forest, where we scored 28 points in less than 20 minutes, then went almost 40 minutes before scoring again.

Which one of those losses in Norvell's 3rd season, was a better WAY to lose?

You are a visionary who thinks that the team won because Brady White had a wet dream about Mike Norvell. That is awesome.

I can answer this for mapdude. Have Brady White call Mike Norvell and ask him.

I can answer this for mapdude. Have Brady White call Mike Norvell and ask him.

Silverfield has a lot to learn about being a head coach. No doubt. But by no means should anyone be calling for his job at this point. Give him time. This is been a crazy year on many levels.

I'm with you but I have one point to make, we are in game 6, the center ought to be able to hike the ball above Brady's shoelaces by now.
