FAU TD! Back-up QB Posey (converted WR) takes off on a designed QB run (11 yards).

FAU 10-6
Let’s not pretend Posey is a WR. He was recruited as a QB and converted to WR as a freshman because we were super thin at WR last year. Posey is our best QB, unfortunately covid issue have kept him out of our other games. Last game he was in street clothes. With experience Posey can be our future. Lane loved his potential at QB, if CR wasn’t so talented we would’ve seen more of Posey last year.

You know there was a reason he had to convert to WR. And the reason was that he wasn't the best, second best, or, possibly, even third best FAU QB.

Tronti is still a better QB than Posey. What Posey is right now is a wildcat "QB". Nothing more. That thing he flopped out that was intercepted was horrific and a stupid decision. So, let's not pretend that he is a quality QB. And if he is - he better be able to prove me wrong next week.

You know your coach is over his head when he says before the season "this Western offense might be close to 2015 & 2016"

Last time Western failed to score a TD vs a G5 school...Willie T was our coach. This FAU offense looks a lot like Willie's offense at S. Fla. It will improve once he gets a QB that can throw and run.

Sadly any coach that thought Piggy was a QB to lead a team with 18 starters coming back from a 9 win team. Is not much of a coach for spotting talent at the skill spots

After watching the FAU game I think WKU should have joined ODU and not played this year

After watching some WKU games I thought WKU already had joined ODU in not playing this year.

Posey can throw. Did he make a bad decision on his only pass (to avoid a sack), sure did. He was a freshman last year and Lane was praising his arm talent. Go back and listen to Lane’s pressers he only converted Posey due to a need at WR. So what he wasn’t the best last year as a true freshman behind CR and Tronti. Lane still thought he was our future after CR.

Also, Posey has been out due to covid issues for so long he didn’t even suit up against UTSA. With more time in practice we will start to see his arm, with more game time experience he won’t make the same poor throw again. That wasn’t a talent issue we saw it was an experience issue.

FAU has a pretty nice defense. Couple that with extreme winds tonight, and the final results are not totally shocking.

I almost expect FAU to win out at this point. And I think it's possible that they could crack the top 25 if they continue to play with that strong of a defense. They are so similar to Marshall in so many ways this year. It's a big reverse from the lightning offense that their fans are used to, but this style of football just wins games.

Western might have to do some real soul-searching this off-season.

I think we do win out but we won’t crack top 25. Outside of Marshall no one else on the schedule to get any attention.

That was really hard to watch. I can’t blame the weather on WKU’s offensive performance. We are just that bad.

.
The last series when we had a chance to march down the field and win the game and you don't even convert one first down pretty much summarizes how inept this offense is under Pigrome. 03-yawn

Don’t forget we have a highly ranked defense that had a lot to do with that. Our offense is struggling but our D is solid.

Why the hell we don't play our freshman qb's to give them actual game time experience ill never know. I have to eat crow about Helton. Thought he would be good but no longer feel that way.. I suspect we'll b bad for awhile. Don't think he has a clue as to who our best skill players are. Totally vanilla offense with absolutely no imagination or creativity. You could put all our plays on a postcard and only use one side. Damnit I expected us to be better. Was so excited going in.
