Hampton Blvd Legend RIP Steve Sakis
Longtime 4400 Club manager and all around legend, Steve Sakis passed this morning.
RIP old buddy.

My condolences to friends and family.

Did he have a son named Steve? I went to hs with a Steve Sakis.

Steve, was a huge help when I chaired the first KA Seafood Feast at Powhattan field. He also helped me get a summer beer tender job at Peabody's. I haven't seen him in decades but he will always live large in my memories.

Big Steve also revolutionized how wrestlers would drop weight in a healthy manner - had some outside of the box techniques that bucked the old school starve to make weight. His son Steve was a monster on the mat at Great Bridge. He was a longtime supporter of the wrestling program at ODU as well.

I wrote a post on here a few days ago but quickly took it down. I got to know Sakis in the mid to late 90s outside of wrestling. I hadn't talked with him in over 18+ years but dang it feels like yesterday he was making us boys into men in my buddy's living room lifting tube TVs, heavy glass coffee tables, and 20 gallon flower pots.
