Interestingly has as many wins in the BIG XII as they do in the Sun Belt

Trying to not make this trash talk but strength of the league

Oh hush. You are trying to trash talk.

This league is much better than it was 5 years ago. No denying that. And the individual player talent level has parity now. But stAte's problems like in the head office, not the players. You guys found the right guy. Enjoy him while you can because he will leave when the paycheck inevitably comes to hire him away.

Man... I want Anderson to win so bad (except to App obviously). The guy has been through so much, can’t help but want to see him succeed. I hope to see things change for stAte, but you got to do what you got to do

CFB is cyclical (looks like AppSt has peaked and is regressing somewhat and Coastal is taking over, however, most likely Coastal will lose its coaching staff after this season). Arkansas St will be back in a few years from now. They have history and top-notch G5-level facilities.

RE: Ark St
I wouldn’t say APP has peaked, we feel really good about our young talent especially on the offensive side of the ball and it looks like Clark is a good coach and will keep us atleast competing for the SBC title, but this yr it appears CCU is having a very special season, haven’t had anything go wrong, players are focused on winning their first title, but they still have to get by us.

Can you explain this logic? CCU and App have played 2 mutual opponents, Campbell and Ark State. CCU won both 43-21 and 52-23 respectively and App has won 52-21 and 45-17 respectively. Granted, each week can show different results for any football program, but regressing? Because we lost to Marshall? Think you may have high hopes my friend.

Unless Joe Moglia decides to throw around some of that TD Ameritrade cash he has laying around. Chadwell might stay around if he saw a big-time salary coming his way.

He has it good there, because of Moglia CCU is the only G5 program that I know of, that can get into a bidding war with almost any P5 school, money is out of the equation, however, can’t do anything if he want to coach at a P5 school.

Such is life as a G5. You hope you have a coach that will bring success until he moves onto a bigger program.

Chadwell is due for a renegotiation anyway - he certainly picked the right year to break out. But I highly doubt Chadwell will be making the top salary in the conference - but I hope we can at least bring him up to the top 25%. Moglia has said before that he's not going to bankroll the program.

Sun Belt Titles are generally won in 4-5 year cycles. App beating us in 2014, even though we still won the league in 15 and 16 was the first sign of them the end of our title run and the beginning of their dominance.

App has remained unchallenged in the league since 2017, but for the first time there appears to be a challenger to App coming out. The question then becomes, can Coastal beat App, and gradually replace them as the league's top team?

That doesn't mean App is going anywhere, I don't see them collapsing even to the level we are, I just think we're hitting a cycle in the league where someone else begins to challenge the top team again.

We are having a good year but beating App State is a tall task. They've completely owned us in every game we've played. Even if we do win this year, doesn't mean they've fallen. One good year does not create a dynasty.

The demise of ULL is overrated. I wouldn’t sleep on them winning the conference title this year.

Demise is a strong word. I don't think they are as good as last year's Louisiana team, though, and that's the same way I feel about APP.

There's never been a demise in Lafayette by any standards. But they've also had one of those teams that can win a lot of games against the bottom and mid level teams of the conference and then struggle to beat the top teams.

I don't know if the Cajuns are good enough defensively to blow anyone out, and I think that's part of the reason why all of their conference games seem to come down to the wire. They've already got one league loss, and still have to play at App State. They'll still win the West provided they don't screw up with AState and South, but I'm not sure I'm ready to declare them the conference champs yet.

I think ULL replacing the two backs from last yr has been harder than expected, the two new backs are fine, just not as good as last yrs unit. I think it’s gotten harder for Lewis because defenses are keying on him more. Now, Ark St. it’s probably time to move on from Blake, it’s tough with everything he has gone thru personally, just not sure his heart is in it anymore, unfortunately they must come up with the cash, and I don’t know if they can afford it right now, but I think they are definitely at a crossroads, they let this drag on for a couple more yrs and they really risk losing the fanbase and it becomes that much harder to get back on top.

UL's two backs from last year are still there. They lost two linemen to the NFL, and experienced receivers to graduation, NFL, and injury.

Levi Lewis just isn’t a championship level QB, period. Championships are won with a solid defense and a QB who can actually win a game for you all on his own.

Sounds like most people have convinced themselves the winner of App@CCU 11/21 will win the title, I’m not so sure is my point.

Let's say Coastal is in the CCG vs ULL. The regular season game was back and forth and we barely won by a field goal. I wouldn't look forward to playing them again.
