Highest Paid MBB Coach in the WAC is......Lew Hill?
According to this:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.midmajo...or-2019-20
UTRGV's Lew Hill had the highest *known* base salary in the WAC (2019) at $294k/year
NMSU's Chris Jans is a close 2nd at $290k/year, plus a retention fee of $139k this year to keep him from leaving Las Cruces.
Anybody know what GCU is paying Bryce Drew?
Up to this point, BCG's comp has been under closely guarded lock & key at Tarleton.

Well Tan Dan was supposedly making $1.5 million a season.

Yeah, I suspect Bryce Drew is the highest paid basketball coach in the WAC. I wouldn't be surprised if he is making well over $1-million per year. Apparently Lew Hill has a slightly high base salary than Chris Jans. But Jans' pay is higher because of the incentive laced in his contract. From what I gather, Jans could make over $500K on any given season; depending on what monetary incentive he achieves.

Jans’ base salary is $290. With bonuses, he is closer to $600. And he agreed to another bonus this year but the details have not been made public.

Jans "Receives $5,000 for beating New Mexico or UTEP or a Power 5 school"

Jans’ retention bonus was bumped to $216k and he was set to see another increase. He also gets bonuses for beating NuM, the minors, winning the WAC, beating P5’s and getting named COY. He regularly gets all those bonuses.

Stephen F. Austin Southland Kyle Keller $375,000
Receives $5,000 for a 20-win season. Receives $5,000 for a CIT or CBI appearance. If SFA receives more than $225,000 in guarantee game compensation it's split evenly between the coach and SFA.

I believe it is $5,000 per win. So, sweeping our two rivals would net him $20K. And, any P5 win would just add to that.

RE: Highest Paid MBB Coach in the WAC is......Lew Hill?
Perusing the internet, it says BCG's net worth in $16-million, so I don't think he is hurting for cash. I can't imagine he made all that much at Ranger JC. Tarleton State brought out of moth balls and resurrected his D1 head coaching career. So, I don't think he came to Tarleton State at a high cost. I would be suspect BCG's salary is in line with most of the WAC coaches; maybe a tad less to start. Now, Jon Judkins has been at Dixie State 16 years. I would think by now, he is getting a healthy salary for a D2 head coach. As of 2018, Judkin's base salary was approximately $120K. If Dixie State hasn't done it already, they will need to up Judkin's pay to be in range of most WAC coaches.
