Exclamation ***Official Temple @ Tulane Game Thread***
Temple Owls (1-2, 1-2) @ Tulane Green Wave (2-4, 0-4)
12:00 Saturday October 31
ESPN+
All time record favors Temple, 4-1
The Owls have won 4 straight against the Green Wave. Tulane's sole win against Temple was in the 1935 Sugar Bowl.
The game opened as a pickem, but has moved to favor Tulane by 3.5.
Owls QB Anthony Russo did not practice this week and had an MRI on his shoulder. No idea if he is playing or not. The backups have very little game experience.

Tulane can't cover a kitchen cupboard - but will get away with it this week.

Probably right. Carey is treating this game like a backup QB audition. We really need to settle on one QB to finish the game.

I am convinced he's in but the refs called it a fumble so it stands.

ESPN+ with their 3 camera coverage saved us.

Not their. AAC produces the games.

Well, only on offense, defense, special teams and coaching.

Temple should just write this season off. COVID and injuries have really gimped them. They aren't this bad.

Every team in America has injuries and COVID to deal with. This is football malpractice.

Good game Tulane. Your frosh QB has a lot of promise and and your O-line opened some really nice holes for the RB's. Our back-up QB's looked pedestrian, to be kind, but the OC can accept his share of blame.

Are Temple fans still happy with Rod Carey? He's lost 4 of his last 5 games, to include his typical bowl game blowouts. His only win was by 2 points to the worst team in AAC (S. Florida).

I’m not sure Temple fans were ever happy with the Carey hire. Remember, we were jilted by the Miami coach and scrambled a bit. I think satisfied is a better word, that we had a decent coach who wasn’t posting his resume from day one. Carey followed Collins, who IMO, was eyeing his next job and was a ceaseless self promoter and was not the recruiter advertised. So we bought stability. Carey did finish 8-5 year one, probably lost a game we should have won (Buffalo) but also won a game we should have lost (Memphis) Thats not bad for a team coming off a coaching carousel. However, we were blown out in that Buffalo game, as well as SMU, UCF, and UNC. Our defense from last year has 3 or 4 guys in the NFL, there is no excuse for those defensive performances. Some Owls fans are cutting Carey some slack, noting Collins poor recruiting and coaching changes. They also note that in the Tulane game we had 13 starters not play due to covid quarantine, as well as injuries to starting QB, and DBs. For myself, there is no excuse for losing 38-3 to a bad team (no offense Tulane but you were 0-4 in conference) There seems to be no adjustments, questionable play calling and slow starts. Carey will get his time to right the ship, if he can. Temple is looking for a new president, which will be followed by looking for a new AD. That could take 1-2 years. Recruiting for how Carey wants to coach will be key, word is he is making inroads in our region. So we will see. For myself, I’ve seen enough questionable decisions from an experienced HC to have some doubts.

That answer your question?
