Where's CNN?
The Biden Scandal continues to grow. At some point CNN will have to report on it.

Right?

Apparently we haven't reached that point yet.

https://www.cnn.com/

I may be overlooking any story related to the Biden Scandal. Please link it if I am.

I checked the topic Misinformation watch. I mean, that looks like how they might spin it.

Scrolling down that page I found this:

1:28 p.m. ET, October 28, 2020
CEOs of Facebook, Twitter and Google grilled in Senate hearing
CNN Business' Kaya Yurieff

Ahh, here it is. Then I started reading.

Quote:Ted Cruz yelled. His Democratic colleague Brian Schatz called the hearing in which he was speaking "a sham." Committee chair Roger Wicker couldn't pronounce the last name of Google's CEO. Just another day on Capitol Hill for Big Tech.

In a contentious hearing on Wednesday, the CEOs of Facebook (FB), Google (GOOG) and Twitter (TWTR) were questioned by Senators on the Commerce Committee over their content moderation policies. Some demanded more transparency while others sought explanations on a few specific cases in which content was removed or labeled by platforms. Though the hearing was meant to focus on a crucial law, known as Section 230, that protects the companies' ability to moderate content as they see fit, Senators strayed from the brief and confronted the executives on other topics, including antitrust and election interference.

Schatz and other senators slammed the timing of hearing, which comes less than a week before the US election. "This is bullying and it is for electoral purposes," Schatz said. "Do not let the United States Senate bully you into carrying water for those who want to spread misinformation."

Cruz angrily went after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, pressing him on the platform's decision to restrict content posted by the New York Post. He concluded by shouting at Dorsey: "Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media are allowed to report and what the American people are allowed to hear, and why do you persist in behaving as a Democratic super PAC silencing views to the contrary of your political beliefs?"

You've got to hand it to CNN. Even when they cover a topic they make sure their readers/sheeple don't see the real issue going down.

This is the part in the blurb that bothers me:

"...a crucial law, known as Section 230, that protects the companies' ability to moderate content as they see fit..."

That's a flat out lie. Section 230 protects the tech companies from being sued due to content posted by others on their platform. It does NOT give them the right to modify content. In fact, if they do, they are then defined as a publisher, and lose the liability protection of Section 230.

Which should have happened already.

Yes sir. They have given up the right to be called 3rd party platforms, they have become publishers and as such should no longer enjoy the protections section 230 affords them.

As the communication and propaganda arm of the DNC, they are under no responsibility to tell the American people about lies, corruption, or health issues related to their candidate. In fact, it’s actually their job to hide, disparage, and discredit any such damaging truths that may pop up.

Heck, they long ago destroyed their own credibility as a news organization. A poll said that the only two entities who people had lost trust in during the pandemic were airlines and the media.

Exactly. I find them an unwatchable echo chamber that is frightened to death of any ideas, evidence, or facts that might disrupt their Orange Man Bad narrative. Here is the thing conservatives need to remember---the name of the republican candidate doesn't matter. The same narrative of a dumb yahoo racist looking to throw grandma over the cliff has been the Democrat trope for ANY REPUBLICAN candidate since I can remember. Gerald Ford was the dumb clumsy ex-football player idiot that somehow became president. Maybe Trump walks into the pitch more often than another candidate might due to his off the cuff riffing and tweets----but that uncaring/dumb/racist trope was always going to be the narrative by the fake news regardless of who the republicans ran in 2016 and 2020. It will be no different in 2024.
