Old news
A few years ago WMU started to digitize all the old editions of The Western Herald newspaper. Found the site so last night I spent some time looking up old editions from my era at WMU - good stuff. Here's the link if you feel like checking it out. The pictures alone are worthy of a look.

man i'm slightly disappointed the newer ones are still just scans. I would have assumed they had digital copies of those still.
