Just wondering if you were to pick a starting 5 all time for odu mens basketball. What would it be? I will go with gattison and valentine at forward west in the middle, twardzik and Freeman at guards, with bazemore and loughton as top reserves. What say you guys?

Starters
1 - Twardzik
2 - Bazemore
3 - Sessoms
4 - Hodge
5 - Washington

2nd Team / Bench
6 - Williamson
7 - Freeman
8 - Valentine
9 - Gattison
10 - West

11 - Laughton
12 - Poag

Only using players I saw: Hodge, Williamson, Poag, Sessoms, Loughton

Yes, this has been done before. But it’s still fun.

I was a little late for Mark West. But I have a special affinity for Gattison and Frank Smith since they were my introduction to ODU basketball. Gotta have Hodge and Sessoms. After that probably Loughton to round out 5 but several others are close behind. Bazemore, Freeman, Poag, Gatling are some of the others.

My guess for starting 5 this season: Curry, Wade, Oliver, Ezikpe, Green

That’s a formidable starting five! And then Hunter and Reece off the bench. Seven man rotation is too tight. Who else gets mins? Anyone with any inside intel re: the unknowns?

Trice and the other sr transfer Strother? And maybe Alfis as well depending on the opponent. By seasons end some of the Fr since everyone gets a free year? If games in hand for sure some minutes.

We definitely need more help/mins off the bench in the post. I can’t wait to the see the unknowns in action. I can still remember the first time watching Freeman and Arledge play.

You guys need to relax. When odu is not playing and everyone else is you have a tenancy to think of former greatness. Nothing to root for right now. I can't wait for basketball to start, but until then I can think of former days, do not deny me that. There is plenty of room for all in here. Remember we are all odu nation, people don't like being bullied like I have been in this forum before. I like to read all forums, not just yours.
