Great news, I watched the Vow on HBO max about this cult. He deserves every bit of his sentence.

Never understood how the women fall for this crap, same with any of the weird cults out there.

Best I’ve got is that people who suffered emotional/psych. damage in their youth/adolescence are not well-equipped to recognize the dangers that seem incredibly, blindingly obvious to others. Add in the fact that some people are simply not that bright, and you’ve got a huge permanent class of ready-made victims.

And just think — all of them are allowed to vote, too!
