Would someone who plays in the fall, and transfers to play FCS in the spring:
1) Be in better shape and ready to go?
2) Worn down physically and mentally?

I think the good comparison would be international soccer players who play year round and in World Cup years basically don't get a break. It isn't during the WC where they have problems but getting back to another long season directly after the WC finishes without the normal break. Often times it is mid season the next year where we see some people fall apart.

Based on that I'd say generally they will be fine for the Spring season, but where they could start to break down would be next fall (especially later in the year). Of course not every position is created equally. A WR or DB would probably be fine, someone in the trenches could be worn out by all that play.

And they have the gall to tell people who‘ve travelled to/from states with a FRACTION of the deaths per million to quarantine for 14 days lol. And NY is #2, and CT #4 in deaths per million. Heck, if anything, the quarantine should be the other way around..

I mean just completely disregard most of it was early on when the entire world was still struggling to understand the virus and how to effectively treat it compared to 6 or 7 months later. That's definitely not a factor or anything. The current case figures more than tell the tale in relation to the rest of the country.

Teams cannot afford to waste time quarantining for 14 days when they have a game scheduled the next week.

Don't disagree that the scheduling is Covid related, but teams have all gotten permission to travel for games this fall. For instance Rutgers travelled to Michigan which is on NJ quarantine list and the team and staff is exempt from 14 day quarantine which is legally unenforceable any way.

I guess schools would try to abide by official quarantines, but the whole thing feels like a bit of a joke with interstate travel between states in the US

I know someone who just visited New York in Manhattan, stayed at a hotel there, did some sightseeing and they absolutely didn’t quarantine. I had been thinking about a trip myself and didn’t know they had a quarantine until reading this thread. I’d bet 50% of the population or more isn’t aware it exists.
