Recently candidate Biden clarified China was competitor. Primarily to distinguish from an opponent in Russia.

Implying a competitor plays on a level field, competes within the rules as opposed to an opponent synonymous with enemy, foe and combatant.

By definition Iran "Death to America" is an opponent not a competitor.

This agreement provides $ to Iran to continue ramping up nuclear weapon development that was hidden in plain site under the Iran Nuclear Agreement.

Combine the helping of Iran, the threat to hold pharmaceuticals needed in US to be, the removal of liberty in Hong Kong in violation of the exchange agreement, threatening Taiwan and refusal of inspection of Wuhan for sources of Covid 19 is China looking to play on a level field? Compete by universally accepted rules? Or are they a foe? Antagonist? Enemy?
