The Number of Games FBS Teams Have Played
With the Big Ten and MWC starting up yesterday and PAC-12/MAC yet to start, it made me wonder how many games each FBS team has played. We have teams that have played as many as 7 games, and as few as 0 games. Here is the breakdown.
Played 7 games - 3.85%
Played 6 games - 16.15%
Played 5 games - 20.77%
Played 4 games - 10.77%
Played 3 games - 5.38%
Played 2 games - 1.54%
Played 1 game - 19.23%
Played 0 games - 20.00%
Not playing games - 2.31%
It'll be interesting to see how the year shakes out, especially with rankings/CFP towards the end of the year. By the way, the SBC breakdown is as follows:
Played 7 games - 10% (Texas State)
Played 6 games - 20% (Arkansas State, ULM)
Played 5 games - 50% (Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Louisiana, South Alabama, Troy)
Played 4 games - 20% (App State, Georgia State)
Is there any meaning that can be gleaned from these numbers?

I can glean that the conference has been fairly successful with playing games so far this year.

RE: The Number of Games FBS Teams Have Played
Not sure what can be gleaned. I'd argue that the teams playing more have done better with their covid outbreaks, but that's not true. Both AState and ULM have had games postponed to this point
I think what we're seeing is the teams who chose to play in Early September have been able to get more games in despite dealing with postponements etc.
After the Kansas State game, there were some questions here if we'd get 6 or 7 games in this season, and right now we stand an okay chance of getting 12 games in.
