MyBB STR: Arizona finally gets Notice of Allegations
Quote:The nine total allegations in the NOA are the most levied by the NCAA against any school involved in the FBI scandal to date, a notable development because it is not the first school to be hit by the governing body related to the scandal. Oklahoma State, Memphis, NC State, LSU and Kansas are already dealing with their own cases, and those are being funneled through the new Independent Accountability Resolution Process (IARP). The Athletic reports that it obtained the details of the NOA after Arizona's counsel requested that its case, like those others, be referred to the IARP.

We should hear something next month or the month after or the month after that, maybe next year.

RE: STR: Arizona finally gets Notice of Allegations
Even though it is an independent body, it was formed by the NCAA so that the NCAA can "wash its hands" in dealing with penalties. That being said, we have no way of knowing if they will be any fairer than the NCAA. I'd expect them to make their final judgement sometime during the season, right about the time we have a good run going, so they can screw us over just like their parent organization....

Doesn't that quote make it sound like we were somehow involved in the FBI probe?

RE: STR: Arizona finally gets Notice of Allegations
"When Kondelis asked Dawkins about Miller's comments during that news conference, Dawkins said,

"When Sean Miller had his press conference, I literally thought of Book, and I was like, 'S---, I mean Sean should have his own like movie agent or a manager, like he should be an actor. That was a very high-level ... I was convinced, honestly."

When Dawkins was asked by Kondelis if Miller was telling the truth, he replied, "When Sean Miller had his press conference and said has a player from Arizona ever received money or did he know anything about a player from Arizona receiving money, did he lie? Yeah, that wasn't true."

That's what I'm hearing too. It will happen sometime soon or not.

Thought I heard that the IARP said they are behind due to COVID and would probably not have any rulings this year.

I would expect since we were the first case they got, and since we are NOT part of the FBI stuff that is going to get multiple schools, that we should be the first IARP ruling. Spring 2021?

I don’t see it happening.
I hope I’m wrong.

It's coming. This much corruption and exploitation will not go unpunished if you believe in the laws of the universe.

RE: STR: Arizona finally gets Notice of Allegations

Quote:"I understand and fully support the University's decision to self-impose a one-year postseason ban on our Men's Basketball program," Miller said Tuesday in a statement. "Our team will remain united and aggressively compete to win a PAC-12 championship."

In a May 2019 trial, federal prosecutors played a taped phone call, intercepted by wiretaps, before a jury, in which Richardson was heard telling Dawkins that Miller was paying eventual No. 1 NBA draft pick Deandre Ayton $10,000 a month to play for the Wildcats.

News of the taped phone call was first reported by ESPN in 2018. Miller sat out one game in the 2018 season because of the report, which Miller denied. University president Robert C. Robbins announced a few days later that Miller would remain the Wildcats’ coach.

Arizona is 7-1 this season and 1-1 in conference play.

Last month, Auburn's men's basketball program also self-imposed a postseason ban stemming from the same federal investigation in 2017.

Second nat’l media clown that has implied our case is related to the FBI scandal.
