He would be smart to pass on this job. Kansas is a basketball school, taking over this late would put him at a disadvantage, and Kansas hasn't won more than 3 games in a season since 2009. In the last 11 seasons they are 21- 108. This is a bad job.

Yes, Burden, and even in a state with fewer people then northeast Ohio, Kansas isn't even the dominant football program. Kansas State is. He would get more money, and the bar to exceed would be set very low, but still it wouldn't be wise.

Hustle Belt (A MAC blog site) recommends Kent State start going for 2 points. A few of the coaches including Sean Lewis and Andrew Sowder responded with curiosity on Twitter.

As much as I have enjoyed Kent State Football over the years, the transfer portal is having me lose interest.

Bigger schools no longer even need to recruit the fringe prospect, they can let them go elsewhere to develop and then poach when an urgent need is there.

Exactly, Polish Hammer. Mid-majors are well on their way to becoming a AAA minor league for the P5 type schools. And I suppose that P5 recruits that bomb will want to move down to the AAA level so they can get playing time.
