RE: 2020 Kent State Football Season
That’s true, and I’m guessing the extra year of eligibility has a bit to do with it. If some of these guys couldn’t break through this season they’ll be stuck behind the same players another year. No offense to these guys, but when guys like Crum or McCoy enter the portal I’d be more concerned.

And it’s happening everywhere, so we’ll snag replacements from the portal.

RE: 2020 Kent State Football Season
Now that our 3-1 season is over what do you think our record would have been had we played the remaining 8 games. My guess is losses to Alabama, PSU, Kentucky. Win over Kennesaw. That would have left games against Miami, Ohio, WMU, CMU and NIU (13 games since EMU wasn’t on the original schedule). I have no clue on the conference games other then a win over NIU. That makes us 5-4 with four to play. What do you guys think?

RE: 2020 Kent State Football Season
I think it would depend on what version of Penn State and Kentucky that showed up to the game. If it was the same versions that played this year I wouldn't be surprised if Kent won both of those games. Which would lead them to 3-1 to start the season and a lot of confidence. The Buffalo game would still be tough and one of the CMU/WMU could be an issue. All said and done I think they finish 9-3 or 10-2.

McKoy announced he's entering the draft. I'll certainly be pulling for him. Extremely talented player.

I'm surprised by McKoy leaving. Has anyone read or heard anything about him getting draft buzz?

Great news about the QB. He is a difference maker and then some.

Penn State would have run for 318 yards and 5TDs en route to a 49-26 win. But that is obviously just an opinion.

This is the only thing I've seen so far. I'd be surprised if he isn't drafted though. I'd honestly be surprised if he lasts to the last day even. It's tough to pick out a flaw with his game and he's got the athletic ability to stand out at the combine or a pro day. Like that article says, maturity is the only flaw I've seen from him.

This will obviously be a big loss for the offense, but I feel like we still have a lot of talent at WR. Poke looked great this year. Cephas looked good too and has some size. Woodson and Floriea flashed potential in their limited time. Looks like we have a couple 6'2" guys coming in. Tough to replace such a talented player but I suspect Crum's going to still have a plethora of talent to throw to. His completion percentage on deep balls will likely go down though.

Looks like a smaller, but talented class. Makes sense with coaches waiting to see how many seniors return. As of right now, I believe 6 are.

Also looks like everyone signed, normally there seems to be a couple defections.

I looked at the average player Rating according to 247 Sports and it has gone up every year since 2017. Remarkable!

I agree that he will be drafted and will be successful in the NFL. I just hope it is high enough that makes it worth passing on another year to show off his talent.

I know 2020 has been a mess, but it’s a shame we’re not going to a bowl game. Somehow a 9-2 Army team is also sitting home w/o a bowl despite a guaranteed bid to the Independence Bowl while 3-7 Mississippi State plays in the Armed Forces Bowl of all games and 2-8 South Carolina goes bowling as well. This whole bowl system is f&$#ed. 01-wingedeagle

I doubt the university could afford sending the football team to a bowl game.

I thought it’s subsidized by the MAC.

Not to beat a dead horse but when you are wasting the money on Nielsen and Cegles like they are, it really makes it difficult for things like bowl games. Just no wiggle room.

I will say, I do enjoy that we can have conversations about if we should or shouldn't accept bowl bids though. That's not something we were thinking much about for most of my life.

Got some positive publicity during the Bama-ND game. They mentioned Bama’s explosive offense and how KSU led the country and how Saban is a graduate.

Good thing they didn’t see his AFLAC commercial. He lost some credibility on that one. He needs to keep coaching.

With Kansas firing Les Miles Coach Lewis is popping up again as a possible replacement. Every time I get excited that the carousel is over it starts right back up.
