This is a seriously under reported story. Biden acts as if he has some sort of plan. Nothing could be more misleading. This is a world wide pandemic featuring a new deadly virus that has no cure or vaccine. People are going to die. Everyone is using the same general strategies to combat the virus. If there was an easy simple answer that was more effective---everyone would be using it.

We have 3 weapons to fight Covid. Shutdowns, Space (social distancing), and pieces of fabric. Thats it. Everyone is using the same crap. There is no magic mask that Biden is going to wave over the nation to rid it of Covid. He is lying when he acts as if he has answer nobody else has. The only difference between his strategy and Trumps---is he would use more shutdowns (which the science per the World Heath Organization says is more damaging than Covid because of the long term economic damage and poverty shutdowns cause).

The only viable strategy is what was explained by the Trump Administration on day one of the crisis. We cant prevent the virus or its spread, but we CAN prevent excessive deaths by SLOWING the spread enough to prevent our healthcare system from being overwhelmed. Most will survive if they receive normal care available from the American healthcare system (and our strategies for treating it get better each month--further lowering overall pandemic deaths). So--the original goal of preventing the healthcare system from being overwhelmed is the best way to battle our way through these tough times without doing anymore harm to our economy than is absolutely necessary.

My wife knew people in northern Italy. The lockdowns were draconian. People were basically locked in their apartments. You could only go out a couple times a week for groceries.
