So we just shattered that whole little ranked curse thing.

GS has an incredible D line. That’s the first team this year that has shut down our run game like that.

Great game, guys.

That backup started 6 games last year according to the announcers. Seems solid.

Been saying you are a good team and thought you would win.

But GS has serious issues with offense and our secondary.
Werts missed a lot of open receivers which is not the norm.

Good game and you guys should be in position to win the Belt this year.

Not really. Most of the missed passes just Werts over throwing.

With hands in his face. . . You may need to rewatch because while our backup played like hot garbage I think it was due to Southerners great DL play.

We had plenty of passes in the 1st half to open receivers deep that were over thrown. Werts was off all game.

An a body explain why they put us at the 10 after fair catching the kickoff? Shouldn’t that be automatic at the 30? Refs didn’t bother to explain wth caused it.

The Stink O-line looks worse than I’ve seen it in a very long time. Their defense looks slow too. This was the first time I’ve watched CCU this season so this is anecdotal, but they aren’t one of the best 25 teams in the country from what I’ve seen. The East is App’s to lose and the West is ass cheeks now that Louisiana is fading.

UAB is a very good football team. Louisiana just might be on the upswing.

From what I saw they blew the play dead as soon as he caught it, which is what made zero sense.

Great game, guys.

We've been excellent at stopping the run since we moved to FBS (minus the DC in 16/17 not knowing his ass from a hole in the ground).

My concern was the secondary getting caught up in the backfield action and giving up cheap scores downfield....which is what happened.

Also Duncan was in his first game this year and looked sluggish/hesitant as you'd expect for his first game in a year which didn't help.

Coastal came through on offense when they need to.

We had a rerun of our team from 2019....defense playing well and keeping us in a position to win and the offense completely failing us when it counted. Then cue the other team figuring something out that worked and taking the game out of reach. Seen this movie several times.

It looks fine in person, not so much on TV. Once you’re into the game you don’t even think about it.

This, honestly looked like a blown call by the refs. If he did call fair catch then ball shouldn’t be at 10. He didn’t run and acted like a whistle was blown. I’d they did blow the whistle on mistake shouldn’t it have been a rekick

Agree, your Dline and linebacker corp might be the best in the Belt, but you guys have some serious issues on the offensive side of the ball, your not going to win many games with Werts basically trying to do it on his own, and the OL isn’t helping, not sure how many games you can win putting up 14-20 points a game.

We run an option scheme that has a base play that's fundamentally flawed.

I've also had very little confidence in our OL coaching since late 2018 and even more so last year.

Our offensive gameplanning makes no sense most of the time. I have no idea what we're trying to achieve when I see us play. It's very frustrating.

I’ll say this Werts is a warrior, he gives everything he has on every play, and basically gets the hell knocked out of him almost every play, (have a theory teams know he is all GS has, so their hitting him alittle harder), but all he does is get up, stagger back to the huddle and run the next play. I know Ham is considered the all time fan favorite, but something is wrong with you guys if Werts isn’t in the top 2 or 3.

Werts is a great player and a hell of a guy off the field.....but there's a whole hell of a lot of QBs ahead of him in our history. And that's not a knock at him, we've just had a lot of good players.

Ham
Gross
Hill
Revere
Williams
Foster
Ellison

That's just a quick list. A lot of Werts' stats are a result of him being our only 4 year starter other than Ham (cause we haven't really had great offenses while he's been playing), but even then Ham was a much more dynamic player than Werts. I mean he's a HoFer....so it's an unfair comparison.

I dont think most of the guys on that list are doing much better than Werts TBH. You can complain about the OC or QB, you can't do both.
