Honestly, Ty Linder getting laid off really pisses me off, so I’ve gone from neutral on Joel to he can leave now. I’m tired of the ‘blah, blah, blah, COVID’ while the richest at the university think that taking a pay cut where they can only afford one yacht instead of two from their excess salary each year is a big deal, but the little people losing their jobs isn’t.

Higher Ed is in for a reckoning and it can’t come soon enough. Linder/Nielsen is just the symptom of a huge problem they will have to confront.

How much money would have been saved if Kent State stuck to a home, away and alternate uniform?

Still no response from Joel or the President's office.

Would love for them to create a "Bring Ty Back" fund.

Made a comment the other day concerning Joel to a friend. I said well, have to give him credit for the new turf at the indoor practice facility. My friend replied that we all know that several teams use the facility. The fund raising plan called for involvement from all the teams to raise the funds. My friend continued the new turf is in and donations results are too. Football raised 100% of the pledges for the new turf so my friend said let's not give Joel too much credit for this achievement.

First series of the game and was already wishing Ty was on the air...

I have decided starting today that I will comment on every social media post that the athletics department puts out about Linder being let go. It probably won't do anything but it will make me happy to flood them with it.

I truly enjoyed each and every one of Ty's calls and was always a bit disappointed if he wasn't behind the mic.

I always loved the way he pronounced Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center and I never say the word "conference" anymore. Instead I use the proper pronunciation..... con-fer-ence.

This I agree with. His voice is on every highlight they have. Not a lot of ways around it.

Maybe I am living in an alternate reality, but things are really bad for lots and lots of people. Many are losing jobs. I understand that Joel makes a lot of money, but don't we kind of need an AD?

We certainly do need an AD, but should he be paid so much better than his peers when the coaches and programs are always at the bottom of the MAC? You’d think there would be some sort of equal footing there, but it shows Joel is out for himself only. It’s time to reign it back in, getting that salary back in line with the MAC average would leave enough money to pay guys like Ty and several other staffers let go.
